Learned Anons,
I have a question that no amount of googling has ever answered: Do Japanese people think that English has 26 letters or do they think there are 52 letters (26 uppercase and 26 lowercase)?
I mean, growing up to recognize a big D from a little d means that they are the same letter to me. But for some foreigner, this might be mighty confusing.
Halp?

You're missing the point. Japanese is pretty much like shouting in ALL CAPS as there aren't captial and lowercase letters. What do they make of alphabets like ours which DO make the distinction?
You disappoint me /jp/. I always thought you were smarter than this.

Not really. If they want something to stand out they can always write it in katakana. Also; you're an idiot, stop posting.

Of course, it's not ALL CAPS from their perspective. Sure, they use their loud syllabry when necessary. But to OUR eyes Japanese is ALL CAPS. The letterforms take up the exact same width the height making differentiation difficult.

THAT'S ABOUT AS LOGICAL AS SAYING THAT A SENTENCE WRITTEN ALL IN LOWER CASE IS A SENTENCE WRITTEN IN ALL CAPS. WHEN READING JAPANESE, THE CHARACTERS HAVING THE SAME WIDTH AND HEIGHT IS NORMAL, AND SO DOES NOT APPEAR TO YOU AS ANYTHING SIGNIFICANT. IN FACT, A CHARACTER WITH A DIFFERENT WIDTH OR HEIGHT WOULD STAND OUT AS SOMETHING UNUSUAL, LIKE IMPROPER CAPITALIZATION WOULD IN ENGLISH.

In my Motherland, we have 26 letters of the alphabet. Not the ones you are accustomed to, though.

a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, ñ, ng, o, p, r, s, t, u, w, x, y, z

Brazilians.

They are taught we have one set. Since it's that rudimentary after 2 weeks most children don't fuck this up. After a period they use a capital, and they start a phrase with a capital.

Then again most of these faggots just type all bubbly in capital letters.
