もう寝る?
Google translate: "I'm going to sleep"
JP-Eng dictionary:
もう= already
寝る = sleep
Using context from the rest of the panels I assumed she was asking why he hasn't slept yet. Therefore, I got:
"You haven't slept yet?"

晩ごはんもあるけど
Google translate says: "I have some breakfast"
but:
晩ごはん = dinner
I couldn't find any information on "もあるけど" so I just assumed from context she was asking if there was any dinner leftover.

if I had kids, I would hope they would have fun with their friends every day like this. i would support them as much as i could, i would turn their dreams into my dreams. i would always be there for them and always try to understand them and always take their interests seriously, unlike my parents did for me. i hope i could still find the time to balance that with my hobbies, but if i had to give it up it would be okay. i know my kids might be embarrassed by me and how much i love them early in life, but i know that by the time they're teenagers (or worst case adults), they'll see how distant most people are from their families and realize that i was always there for them. i want their friends to be jealous of how cool their parents are, and they could even be proud of me. i want my kids to do great things, but if not, i hope at least they're surrounded by friends that love them for who they are.

Wasted a lot of time until I found nuke marine then proceeded to waste more time doing kanji as part of his thing, then found the 3 hour matt video and started doing the rest of RTK... Finished mid 2018. Read through Tae Kim after then then started sentence mining. By this point I was completely burnt out though and quickly gave up. Found some nice manga in winter 2018 that revitalized me but a bunch of real life shit hit me at once and I had to put it aside until July 2019 when I started for real and have been doing pretty well since then :)

for me it was similar.
in august 2018, i somehow found tae kim's guide, and signed up for japanese classes because i thought it'd be a lot easier to learn all those thousands of kanji in class than on my own.
after a few months, i realized that i wasn't really learning that much in class, in comparison to what i was learning through english-subbed anime, so i decided to keep on watching anime.
i tried different strategies, like watching unsubbed anime, making word-by-word translations of h-manga, and just studying the jouyou kanji list on wikipedia.
around february 2019, i decided to start reading raw manga, finish tae kim, and do core6k after seeing the djt guide's advice list.
i used kanjidamage alongside core6k for a while for the sake of using the former to reinforce the latter, but i ended up switching core6k for plain vocab mining after getting overwhelmed by core6k's politics/business-related terms i was rarely seeing in sol manga/vns.
11 months later, welll, i can at least read 柵 and祠.
there's been a few anime i've watched and vns i've read raw, most of which i greatly enjoyed, but if you ask the red-haired man, he'll say i just stared at some pictures and text and imagined stuff was going on
i never saw the appeal of sentence cards or traditional rtk, despite watching matt's videos and reading khatz's posts on them, because of how laborious they seem in return for how little one gains from them.

ill join in the dekinai blogposts with more detail than usual
in 2018 i mostly droned doing useless shit like rtk and vocab lists and retaining nothing
halfway through the year i read a little manga and watched a couple ez anime and made a little progress
then i started leyline and finally completely burned out trying to read it cuz it was so shit
after a month or two off of doing anything i started sayas fuckin uta in december and my life turned around
this year was a little anime and 10 vns
i tried makin some cards for a couple months a couple times and stopped
i dont know nihongo but no one does this language is fuckin impossible at least the vns are fun
next year ill probably read a vn a month and watch more anime
thinkin about makin an anime card as a diplomatic maneuver

lmao that guide is full of shit, it's super simple just look at my hello world code. A decorator is a function (like foo for example)... It takes an argument and returns something, that's it. When you put @foo above a function definition for main() it is basically doing this:
main = foo(main)
e.g. it's redefining main to whatever the fuck foo() returns

it's event calls or something gay as that but they function like decorators? I don't know and it seems decorators are used as well and practically interchangeably at least in the commands extension

Anyway, don't stress about how exactly discord.py is implemented. I see it does use async which is unfortunate, as I view async as vastly inferior to threads. It's kind of a fad thanks to Node.js which uses libuv underneath the hood. You can basically see that the core of libuv is only a couple dozen lines though and not that complicated to implementhttps://github.com/libuv/libuv/blob/v1.x/src/unix/core.c#L355-L404

But yeah I see now it does heavily use decorators and kinda forces you into the async model. That kinda sucks for you but don't worry about it too much. Like I said, treat it like the guy that's translating manga without knowing Japanese. Just read their documentation and copy what they're doing and then play with it, changing it and molding it into something you want it to be.
