With some persuasion, I've recently downloaded and started playing Fate/Stay Night.

TBH, I have to say that thus far, I am fairly unimpressed. However, that's not to say that I'm not enjoying it. It's got its problems, but it keeps me coming back to play, so it does the job, I guess. And like I said, I am enjoying it.

However, I have to ask somethings about it before I go any further:

1. Is Taiga route possible, or am I barking up the wrong tree?
2. Is Ilya route possible, or am I once again barking up the wrong tree?
3. This one might sound a little weird, but is Archer supposed to be Emiya from a past life or something to that extent? Or am I just creating conspiracy theories here?

I've been wondering: Since Fate-route-Shirou is not guaranteed to become Archer, what would have to happen for Shirou to have a 100% chance to turn out that way? (Possibly a reality in which Rin didn't summon her particular Archer?)

The anime doesn't exactly handle things well. You'll find out later on, but it tries to fuse all three routes and fails. The story comes across much better in the VN. It's weird, because of how the combat was shown in the anime, I actually preferred reading about it rather than watching it.
