I hope the eyes are the correct size. You need probably 20mm or so as her default eyes are 22mm. Yes they are glued in but it's easy to pick off. I already tried some eyes out but was not happy with them so old ones are back in for now. Get some white tack not blue tack and use that to hold the eyes in by pushing around the back of the eyes near the sockets. My Haruka needs some new clothing too. I want to get a really moe outfit of turtleneck sweater, jean skirt etc. Image is last photo I took of her.

1) Body - $17 - 30. Obitsu and Volks sell 1/6 sized bodies. Azone has bodies but they are mostly fixed pose.

2) Head - $5 - 20. Get a head you like. Some come with hair. Some come with eyes. Some come with both.

3) Eyes - $5 to 15. If the head doesnt have eyes, you can add them. Either with decals or paint if there are no eye holes or use glass or acrylic eyes if there are. 1/6 eyes are usually 8 to 10mm. The eye hole determines the eye size.

4) Wig - $7 to 40. If your head didnt come with rooted hair, you can get a wig, size depending on the head type.

5) Clothes - $20 to 100+. Body size determines clothes size, with a little flex room. 1/6 clothes range fitting on 21 to 27cm bodies, so find out what doll they are for and if they will fit or not. Azone ex cute clothes are usually 25cm and will probably fit a 23cm body.

Personally, I took the easy route and got a 21HD-F01NC07 head, some eye decals, a body and clothes. Head came with hair. It cost like $50 for the doll and more for the clothes.

If you use decals, which I choose because there dont seem to be any cute heads for acrylic eyes, then you'll want to get a decal solvent like microsol or solvaset.

Get yourself a really cheap tripod. You can afford one of those if you can afford the doll stuff. Also use the camera's timer facility. Most cameras will have a countdown timer. Set it on top of something for now and use the countdown timer mode then hit the button and let go of the camera completely. That way you won't need a flash and you will get a nice sharp photo.

Exactly! Using the timer can be really good sometimes. Before my mom gave me a tripod to take better pics of the dolls (it's true!) it was almost impossible for me to take good pictures without the timer, and even know I often use it. My tripod is a smaller version of the one in the picture. It's awesome, can really recommend it. I just wrap it around my lamp that I have next to the table and take photos of the dolls I have standing next to my laptop.

If you want to light the front without using a flash get a peice of cardboard, cut some baking foil and scrunch it up in your hands then spread it out and stick it to the cardboard. You can then use it as a reflector to direct reflected light at her face. Prop the board up against something nearby to keep it in place while oyu take the photos. Remember to use the timer mode as I stated before. Handheld will cause blur if there is not enough light for the shutter and ISO speed.

Oh and one other thing. I just learned this recently. If your camera has exposure compensation. If you are shotting a subject where there is strong light behind them the camera tends to automatically push the exposure down so your subject looks too dark. You can force the exposure setting upwards (say +1 for instance) to get a better exposure on your forground subject. It's also useful on snow apparently too as the camera will tend to make snow look too dark by under exposing so pushing +1 or so helps for more natural looking snow photos.
