I was the fat awkward guy who was considered funny but also weird and sort of an outcast that everyone felt sorry for so they usually tried not to insult me even in a joking way and they'd enjoy time around me and everyone would talk about how "funny" I was but at the end of the day we all knew my actual place on the social hierarchy and it got to the point where there was a social expectation that people be nice to me even if I didn't actually amuse a lot of them and the years of humiliation I spent in that state is what caused me to become a NEET.

so over time just by the fact u can potentially have more uptime on ロイヤルハート it would objectively increase ur effective health much more than 不屈の闘志 even at a similar effect potency due to said duration and cooldown difference thus "打たれ強くなる" is a very apt description

Yeah, it's very true. It's one of the reasons I felt more compelled to get a Switch instead of a PS4 or Xbox. A good example of one of these censored games is Omega Labyrinth Life, which got a PS4 and Switch release. I got the standard Asia edition since it was on sale for less than the JP release and has multi-language support. Waiting for it to ship soon along with God Wars. OLL is still quite expensive in general on most sites, but it just released on August 01st, so considering that I got the Asia copy (which could be considered superior) on sale and discounted with a coupon, I'm quite pleased. Lewd elements are obviously a draw for the game, but I'm more excited that it's a dungeon crawler which happens to have cool ero elements in it. It seems to have plenty of text for me to read as well. I'm really looking forward to playing it.

What I hate about Code;Vein custom character is that once you created your character it is just a lifeless doll you control without a thing to say (except completely meaningless minor dialogue choices every now and then) and a neutral fixed expression staring into the void
honestly I am not a fan of Bethesda but when I played Fallout 4 I honestly felt like my character was a person in the game world and it was really nice
because not only does your character actually say things and make facial expressions, but even minor things for example when you just stand around and an NPC walks by you
your character will actually follow the NPC with their eyes and just make convincing standing poses
honestly their game is a fucking mess but they did some things right

For 6 months I was reading and doing decks like core but I rarely listened to stuff and when I did listen I couldn't process almost any of the sounds as words. But I started watching a couple hours of anime with japanese subs every day and even though it often feels like I'm just reading, it's still helping my listening. When I listen to raw audio I can hear a lot more words than I could before. So if you're putting off anime because you feel watching without subs would be painful and watching with subs would be pointless, you shouldn't. The latter will still help you even though there's probably a limit to how helpful it is and I'll have to watch raw eventually.

how is typing out kana, scrolling through a list of possible kanji, and then looking for the meaning just as easy as mousing over the word right there in the subtitle? it's more time consuming without a doubt (i've done it). especially when you have around 20, or if you're a real beginner 50, 80, 100 or more words per episode you don't know. when there are that many unknown words parsing correctly is also much more difficult.
better to watch with japanese subs first, learn what you don't know and then watch the raw. train your raw listening skill the second time, while you still make those necessary vocab gains in an efficient way the first time.
when you reach the point where there are only 5 to 10 or so words you don't know in an episode then it makes much more sense to watch exclusively raw, without doing the j-subs first. but there is no way moetard is at that stage (hes more like 50 to 100 unknown words per episode) which is why it's dumb that some of you are acting like hes doing things the best way. he's just fooling himself

But highlighting words or phrases for dictionary lookup really sucks. It's slow, unresponsive, and difficult to actually highlight what you want. I'm taught that Japanese relies on context. Sentences translated from English will omit indications as to who is talking, present/future, singular/plural,... Also, there is the issue of homophones. Given all that, if a Japanese picks up the phone and hears (in Japanese) "Hi, it's John. I have an X." In this situation, there is no context other than John is speaking. I know how you feel. I’ve been trying to learn this language since 13 and I’m 21 now. I just started from scratch again for the umpteenth time now and I went through hiragana/katakana and now I’m doing kanji with RTK.

I’m currently at 300 kanji out of the 2200 that are in the book. It’s a lot of work just matching the English meaning to the kanji itself. I won’t even start on grammar and nor vocabulary until I’m done with this. But I’m feeling so much more positive than ever before at this attempt. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m maturing but the pieces are clicking more and more and somehow I’m having a really easy time memorizing with my current learning method.

I'm confused as fuck on the difference between using masu-stems to combine verbs as opposed to just using the て form.
For example what is the differance between saying "逆らい続ける" and "逆らって続ける"?
The case in particular I find most confusing is with 行く and 来る.
I've seen it said that "verb stem + に + 行く" means "to go to do (something)", but isn't that function already filled by て form + 行く?

買っていく means to buy an then go (somewhere else)
買いに行く means to go somewhere for the purpose of buying (like the store)
similarly,
買ってくる is to buy something and then come (to some place, usually back to where they were before)
買いに来る is to come to wherever the speaker is for the purpose of buying something
