Why do people all but ignore the PC-98 games? They aren't perfect, but they're definitely worth playing. It's crazy to me that most primaries haven't even touched them and don't go back before the Windows games.

PoD.D is my favorite game. I wish I could play multiplayer with my friends on /jp/. Maybe someday, when we all gather in that big mansion in the sky.

Lotus Land Story has one of my most favorite soundtracks in the series. Alice Maestra is probably one of ZUN’s greatest tracks. I like Mystic Square too, cause Mima is in it and she’s cute.

I started with HRtP and have no regrets: the games are fun and the music is extremely good. I even prefer the setting and atmosphere to that of the Windows games. My only real complaint (and it's a pretty big one) is the bullets that have the same color as the background. That alone is a really big deterrent for me to replay them.

they're fun games and easy to emulate so i play them often, probably more often than the windows games.
the character designs and concepts were interesting since zun didn't have the limitations he made for the world of gensokyo, it was just whatever came to mind and whatever media he liked mashed together. it's like seeing an artists first deviantart profile full of weird oc recolors where you can see their tastes and future ideas forming if that makes sense?

Played em and didn't really like them. Doesn't help the way I emulated them back in the day gave me some input lag and to this day I still don't understand why, because it's not like I was running it on some computer from the early 2000s. Soundtracks are pretty top-notch though and I wish some characters would come back if only so we could get new official variations on their songs or new ones like Yuuka got.

I've emulated them recently and haven't noticed significantly more input lag, but that may just be time. What didn't you like about them? I can understand not liking 2hu1, but 2hu05 isn't all that different from the early Windows games.

Honestly? Thinking about it, there wasn't really much that bothered me specifically about them beyond my own lack of skill and jank emulation so I guess I'm taking saying "I didn't like them" back.
