Yes, but many of these blocking and parrying procedures are unnecessary or ineffective unless facing another boxer also wearing boxing gloves.

In a fight with someone of a discipline like Aikido, I don't need to think for a fraction of a second to come to the conclusion that I would go without my gloves.
