It always dies just in time for me to wake up, doesn't it? Well, I should be studying now, not being distracted by /jp/, so it's probably for the better.

jp thread circle has been an endless routine for over a month.
-idol threads.
-Touhou.
-Random japanese thing.

over and over again.

Isn't it sad?

The content of this place used to be vibrant and diverse in the early months.
Then reportfags and board police like ZUN!bar decided to ruin the place.

Seriously... I have no reason why I come back every day. There must be some /jp/ alternative out there that doesn't suck. Maybe AoRF can make a secret board.

>> No.2210059,1 [INTERNAL]

Eh, I think /jp/ is still pretty decent. Weekends are always bad, and this one was particularly horrible. For some reason a bunch of /a/ and /b/ posters decided to pay us a visit, in addition to all of the normal kids we get on weekends.

Huh?

Aside from that, I honestly don't know why I keep coming to /jp/ as well. I can't even remember the last time when I thought, "Hey, this was a fun discussion!" on /jp/. I'm very much tired of all the shitty jokes that get tossed around and the terrible discussions, as well as all the trolls, and all of the unreasonable and uncreative things said every day.

Sometimes, I get the feeling that there's no place on the internet that has Touhou discussions that truly appeal to me.

>> No.2210077,1 [INTERNAL]

Maybe 'vibrant and diverse' is a bit of a stretch, but the discussions were a hell of a lot more interesting without shitposts, frivolous reporting, and the same damn threads every day. Or maybe I'm just stuck thinking about the novelty appeal /jp/ had when it was new. Still, I bet if someone decided to start a gikopoi thread nowadays, it'd disappear to page 10, or get reported for being 'off-topic'.

I never really liked the whole OTP/yuri pairings deal.

I recall an anon saying that friendship in Gensokyo was expressed through sharing tea and kicking ass, or something like that.

>> No.2210097,2 [INTERNAL]

Oh please. Now you're trying to blame it all on the janitors, moderators, and reportfags. Protip: /jp/ became stale thanks to a lack of original content. How hard is it to create a topic that a) is related to /jp/ and b) original?

The only problem I see here are a bunch of people that are sitting around complaining while the board becomes boring. Instead of creating original threads, you're sitting here waiting for a good thread to appear. The reportfags might be annoying, but I've yet to see them make a mistake. Notice my use of plural words when describing the reportfags. Thread reporting is a process.

1. Reportfags report a thread
2.Janitors inspect the thread to make sure it's not a ronery, meta, blog, or a "women cant be ronery" tollfest.
3. They either delete it or they see that it's not breaking any of the specified rules.

There's a reason why it's called Japan/General. If you want random topics then get back to /r9k/ and/or /b/. Personally, I'd love a weeaboo version of /b/. But that's a completely different conversation that you should probably take up with moot.

The only way to make /jp/ more interesting is to abandon it for a while. This meta board is a breath of fresh air. Just be lucky that you're complaining about repetition and not cancer. In two more years, everybody here is going to be talking about how good /jp/ use to be.

I like to think I'm as proactive as you, but everytime I make a topic that I enjoy, no one posts in it except me. I usually reply to myself ten times, and let it die.

I'm beginning to think that maybe I have very shitty tastes in topic material.

Janitors rarely delete "women cant be ronery" threads though. They only seem to disappear when they hit the bump limit.

Personally I just try to make the best of things the way they are. I mentally filter out the shitposts and try to make what I hope are good posts. So far taking it easy has made browsing /jp/ a lot more enjoyable. The only thing we can do to make /jp/ better is make good posts and ignore the bad posts/trolls (or report them if they're rule-breaking) but I think even doing that much can improve the board. Of course even with a small board like /jp/ that's hoping for too much.
