They are not aware that I'm an otaku, since I keep most of my merch hidden, and most of my otaku goods are on my PC. When they see my fumo sitting in the corner of my bed and wonder where I got it, I just tell them "A friend bought it for me when she was in Japan".
The only things I keep on display in my room is my books and shitty watercolor paintings.

My mom is supportive and is glad I have hobbies and interests that actually make me happy. She likes seeing my manga and figure collection and is always curious when I order new stuff. Also she really likes Marisa and gets happy if I get new merch of her.
All my other friends have similar interests as well so I don't have to hide anything.

My sister makes fun of me. My brother is chill about it, but sometimes jokes. Mom doesn't quite get it but thinks its alright, joking around a bit. Dad accepts it and seems to becoming an otaku himself, asking me about anime recommendations and sending me hentai memes.

And, of course, my friends are all weebs on varying levels. Roommate is even more a weeb than I am, and even most of the girls I hang out with like japanese culture.

My parents are happy I'm learning a language but other than that not much reaction.
Maybe a bit bewilderment when seeing my room with the posters and manga collection. The most being my mother taking a very long look at the suggestive JC Kizu Shinobu poster, but she didn't say anything.
Also the fumo is usually a point of interest. Guess it's hard to wrap your head around having even a single soft girl on your shelf. Not like there are many people getting into my room.

I guess they are ok with it, but I don't know how much they think of me as a loser, like I'm 18 y.o kiss-less virgin but I'm not poor because I work a lot.
Since being a kid, even my grandma was saying that I will end up alone because of my personality, I tend to be very negative and pessimistic person, always complaining and self-centered.
I don't go out outside of work and sometimes gym.
I told one of my friends (Chad type guy) about Touhou, I was going on and on about it about a year ago, the last month he said that he tried it, I don't know which he tried but what I know he uninstalled it because it was really hard.
From my parents they only know that I have "an anime wallpaper like my sister" and a nendoroid Sanae plushie and my mother and grandmother refer to it as "my girlfriend".
So yeah that's about it.

Friends don't know, other than the fact I play touhou and some rhythm games. They asked me what touhou was and I basically said "a really hard Japanese arcade game" and they never bothered looking into it.

I keep all my figures and plushes boxed up or in drawers, and I alt tab anime when I watch it and someone comes. Games don't feel as forbidden so I don't hide those. It's moreso out of habit at this point, I don't really mind if they saw but I dont want to make a big deal out of all the things Ive gathered over the years by announcing them.

I don't think my parents care all that much but that's probably because they're in their mid 60's and I don't think they really grasp what all this shit is anyway. My parents just see it as an interest in Japan, since Otaku stuff is only part of my general interest in the culture.
I guess since I'm into more Japanese shit than just 2hu and Anime, and I have friends there, it looks like more than just weebdom. I also recognize Japan for having a lot of downsides, and I don't treat it like the shining city on the hill.
One western friend is pretty into Otaku shit, and one Japanese friend. The rest are all nerds in their own way, but not that into anything Japanese in particular.
