I've mostly ever read Zounose, Furari, Omchicken, and Bombergrape stuff and some one-off stuff. What are some other good artists or other singles I should check out?

I felt the exact opposite. the way he portrays Suwako felt consistent and somehow loving in a weird way. He REALLY likes Suwako given all the stuff he does with her, especially the details, like the tongue.

Then again I think he also really likes Moriya Shrine group the most. It's a whole group dynamic.
Suwako is the curse god and more or less loves to fuck with everything, Sanny is the good girl and loves everything, and Kanakp is more or less the mediator that keeps an eye on both of them for different reasons.

Gensoukoumuten somehow made Gensokyo into a likeable modern fantasy setting. Plus he really knows how to write heartwarming stories.

Pardon me for being a little bit off topic but do you hoard a lot of your physical manga or do you let them go (with cheap resale value ofc) when you don't read them anymore or when they start to deteriorate? I did big house cleaning recently and I have a lot of physical manga collections in my local language which start to gather dust and deteriorate because I didn't give them book covers in the past. To be honest they look like an eyesore to me now and I rather have Ebook collections nowadays because of conveniences but I still have conflicting feelings lol

I don't want to post this on /a/ because that place is shit but I also don't want to make an off topic thread just to kill another thread here and I figured /jp/ crowd clearly has better understanding in average regarding this stuffs compared to /a/

I vaguely remember a doujin with the main theme being Gensokyo ending and both Yukari and Marisa trying to stop it but ultimately failing. At the end, they managed to instead recreate/copy all Gensokyo's inhabitants to the Outside World, while having only some of their memories; only they and Reimu knowing the truth.
I forgot the name, but this one made me enjoy doujins with similar themes, it wasn't that grimdark either.

Eh, there's still plenty of things not getting translated on danbooru. To put things in perspective there's more images tagged translation_request than there are total images tagged fate_(series), and there's a fucking lot of fate/ images. And let me tell you not everything untranslated has the translation request tag. Hundreds of thousands of untranslated images. And yeah getting things approved is like pulling fucking teeth. I dunno why they bother gatekeeping when art's subjective but it's their site, not mine.

Translating stuff on a booru's really quick and easy because you don't have to worry about fitting text into bubbles, but I do worry that in some future year the sites will go down and a bunch of translations will be lost because there wasn't a translated image made.

The series is pretty good at introducing SA's cast. Even so, if you read the comic, then read about the characters on the wiki, and then re-read At Chireiden, the feels just bumps up a few notches. I'd imagine this would get even better (or more heart wrenching) after playing the game?
I dunno.. after playing the mainline games, my feeling for various characters wear off. Yes, it's fun to see them act outside of fanworks, but after the frustration from playing the games and dying countless times, the only memories of them are bullet patterns, not the characters and how they talk.

ZUN doesn't make it to emphasize on either of them. It's to show how the world with mystical beings who like to shoot lasers to each other, adding alternate retelling of various legends and myth, and then issues and conflicts similiar in our world, like religion, industrialization, territory wars, etc, with all the good and bad shown, but just like our world despite all the conflicts everything is maintained and life there is relatively peaceful.

grimsokyo == cutesokyo and vice-versa
the yokai kill and eat humans, mainly outsiders, but its also still a cute world. Those two don't contradict.

Gensokyo is idyllic in a romanticist sense- its a beautiful, pre-industrialized world and the yokai are literally just walking myth and legends.

I didn't saw much of it and I don't remember well but I do remember a girl finding an armor and wearing it, she might have been a purchased slave, artstyle was more to the cartoony side
Don't think it was related to touhou at all
