Arent you supposed to rush act 1 to duplicate kumi statues? I mostly use violent garden on act 1 and golden storm on act 2,after that i just dont know how to proceed

>> No.21851063

You shove herbed food down your throat and wash it down with potions of potential, you run around the settlements clearing quest boards for platinum and music tickets, you check black markets for shiny equipment, you clear (awakened) dungeons for little sisters and little bits of everything else, you sit in the void getting ap and training your combat skills.
Vary it up as needed to keep things interesting.
When you're feeling brave, murder Amurdad for the kumiromi scissors. They're really useful for farming.

>> No.21851109

>>21850875
Even if you're doing the Statue rush, typically you end up "going back" to act 1 and neglecting most of act 2 to farm (The only part of Act 2 you really use is the quick nefia refresh). The "stable" route is to train farming early to build up base skills (things like farming, weight lifting, and some other utility stuff), and by the end of act 1 normally you should have an initial set of equipment (This is a set that covers all of your core skills, core stats, fully statusproof/fireproof/acidproof, +15, blessed - if you're going for an extended Act 1 run to build up money, then normally you'd also have it fully material reworked).

The actual "time" that you spend on Act 2 is really small, because Act 2 is really all about building up speed and life so you can rush to Act 3 and get the Scissors to improve farm consistency.

Violent Garden should last you through Act 2 if your stats and equipment are on point, since enemies don't actually get all that dangerous, but if your stats/equipment are poor (which means your farms are poorly set up), then you might run into trouble at the onset when your speed is still relatively low. You can shortcut this a little by abusing hermes or farming speed pots in nefias, but neither of these are optimal because you're wasting resources if you're not already at AP speed cap.

For solo builds Meshera Alpha is basically a giant stat/equipment check and that's it. A good set up pummels her into the ground, and otherwise she really doesn't put up much of a threat. You can technically cheese her through various means but again, it's a bit of a waste (especially because Act 3 is mostly for releasing speed cap, with the scissors being very nice but not essential, and artifact fusion because extremely resource intensive - i.e. you'll want to have a solid foundation before you get to it anyways.)

I usually have the opposite problem. I naturally have motivation to grind solo. But by time I get to the point where I have good pets on hand I can already practically solo everything, and I've already got a rhythm down to play with.
Before that I get too annoyed by them. Like their stupidity running into danger, most pets' lack of resistances, getting secondary+ sets of gear to cover them too.
Hell, this file I was level 400 before even touching pets for combat, 100 before setting up shop/ranches.

But with riding multiarmed creatures with inherent resistance, I think I can handle it. No running around idiotically, most weapon slots can be filled with stuff like timestop fixedarts or the many living weapons I have, with one slot for the remaining magic resistance. It's so simple and so effective. Overpowered, really, but whatever.

what are some elona-like games?

>> No.21855075

>>21854985
Elona is directly based on ADOM, which Noa was a fan of, many of the game's mechanics locations and references are directly from that game (e.g. the puppydog in the cave, tower of fire). However ADOM is far less forgiving and has few of the whacky elements/no life sim elements. Rune Factory has very pleasant daily fantasy life/grinding gameplay similar to Elona, you can spend every day farming/defeating or taming monsters/crafting things/selling them and generally stat-grinding and building relationships with townsfolk/getting married. I recommend RF4 on 3DS which I don't know whether you can emulate, or alternatively you could emulate RF3 for DS which is far easier on your system. Roguelikes in general have the basic gameplay but lack the life simulator aspects, but are imo far more exciting in the combat and exploration not in the least because of the permadeath and very high difficulty. Try ToME, NetHack, or Cataclysm DDA. If we deviate a little and consider ''combat+life simulator games'' I think you might enjoy something like Mount and Blade or Kenshi as well.

It doesn't just boost speed once, the speed increase stacks with itself and boosts speed higher with every casting (up to a maximum increase of half target's original speed capped at +300). It seems to give ~20 speed per cast, and costs ~10-20 stamina. Act 1 to early act 2 a couple casts are good for giving your whole team an extra turn every third turn for 40 turns. Great buff

>> No.21856192

>>21856139
By the way I just tested it, and while you'd think that you could just refresh the buff right before it runs out and enjoy more speed while having regenerated your stamina, it appears the stacked speed increase only applies when you cast it right after the last cast.

The gravity accell speed boost is dependent on th amount of gravity you have. Casting gravity accell increases the amount of gravity you have, which leads to the effect of each cast seeming to increase your speed. However, the gravity effect slowly gets weaker over time.

I actually love the fact that Elona's dungeons are absurdly basic and bland. It makes for comfortable grinding without worry. The only things to watch out for are creatures, and the dungeons are just a context to play in.
If you're looking for excitement, though, yeah it's pretty ass.

So I made a new character, ugly goblin predator, to check if there is some charisma requirement for prostitution (wiki says so) and managed to seduce level 70-60 adventurers no problem. You see, November is coming and I have a powerful craving for my god Kumiromi's dick... I feel guilty though, because I am a disgusting degenerate, but mostly because it seems like His breakup(?) with Ehekatl weights heavy on Him. What's the story with Ehecatl? Many threads ago I read that She got brutally beaten by some readhead but that's all I know.
Also, I have been farming on my land for a few years now and been thinking about expanding using the money I saved up some long time ago in a modest 10 stones weight, 500 coin kitty. I think a museum and a ranch will distract me while my karma restores to a non-lynching level (red roses were such an emotional sight). But in the wiki it reads that if I will get a ranch I will be required to shovel shit and that's a huge deal breaker for me. Can I make my pets do that for me? I have a few whom I have grown too attached to rip apart in my death/gene machine, whithout any real reason.

As a fellow goblin, I am thoroughly disgusted. Even goblins have standards. I'm summoning goblin slayer.

To answer your questions all I know about the lore is that the gods first destroyed the advanced civilization that stopped believing in them, then started fighting among themselves (incited by Tezcatlipoca but that is Ano's E+ lore). During which time a number such as Kumi and Ehecatl went somewhat insane, and finally the survivors decided to just hang back and gather followers. You can't make pets clean your ranch but you can stop production from the ranch menu (no eggs, milk, shit, garbage, and animal bone will be generated).

There appear to have been multiple scientific ages, e.g. first the ''age of harmony'' and much later the ''age of enlightenment'', which all ended with more or less everything being wiped out. I'm pretty sure that Ano tried to stick as much to the original lore as possible, what the NPCs tell you in act 2/3 fits into this timeline as far as I can tell. You can still raise creatures for meat even with produce turned off.

The eighth era was Asu Terre, in which humanity developed spaceflight and vast numbers of them left Irva and its gods behind. The diminished number of worshippers diminished the power of the gods, so a planet-ravaging war broke out between them.
The survivors of the god wars created the ninth era, Eyth Terre. They eventually built an advanced scientific society still revered by the modern Yerles, although they were highly materialistic and (perhaps not unreasonably) cared little for the gods.
During Eyth Terre, the gods were forced to restrain the God of Chaos inside a barrier of divine energy. A side effect of that resulted in what's currently known as "magic", the advent of which resulted in the "lost era", Naku Domara.
The era before the current era of Sierre Terre was the tenth era, Rehm-Ido. They lived in harmony with nature, but also developed advanced biotechnology. Their story is told during the first chapter's cutscenes.

Throwing shit to kill things has been a thing for a while even in vanilla similar to killing things with alcohol, it just sort of fell by the wayside.

In Omake branches they decided to take it one step further by allowing you to customize your shit via the enhancement mechanic, which allowed you to make a piece of shit that wasn't simply ultraheavy, but also geared towards inflicting specific status effects (shit in omake ignores enemy resistances when inflicting affects), which lead to making hemorrhage shit (shit that was geared towards inflicting so much bleed damage that the target would bleed out, but since shit had weird aggro mechanics, it didn't follow traditional enemy checks).

It's pretty well summed up in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-AS3QCMlxg)), which comes from http://mixednuts1kg.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-53.html (search for フン), where in the level 2 character uses a piece of hemorrhage shit weighting 16k, throws it at Ehekatl, and she dies soon after from excessive blood loss.

If we're assuming no artifact fusion, the flame edge does more damage, but diablo's nerve element and time stop make it overall the best of the three. All three of them get stomped by any living weapon.

Everything in palmia will respawn so there's no serious loss. The saint treasure is best if you want a tax discount, the wicked treasure is best if you often do things that cost karma like pickpocketing, rescuing little sisters, and killing wandering vendors.

I'd favor the saints treasure in omake variants since it's easier to increase karma. Rescuing little sisters awards more karma than it costs, indulgences are more affordable, and guards are less likely to suspect you for turning in unopened wallets and briefcases.

The Plus critical chance bonus from heavy weapons seems pretty worthless. About a 17% chance to crit with the lightest weapon possible, and the crits will barely do more damage than a normal attack. On the other hand, the extra critical damage from heavy weapons is a huge deal. Even dual wield characters are probably better off making their weapons as heavy as their accuracy will allow.

Omake doesn't have the stat reducing items that E+ has when it comes to Gods and the God Binder, which makes certain grind techniques really awkward when your stats get to a certain threshold. To compensate for this, you use a specifically built Justice Weapon designed to increase specific base stats.

Justice Weapons work so that if your Karma is negative, the stat boosts effectively invert, which means you can then use it to serve as a stat cap - the picture attached shows a Level 4 Justice Stone that reduces Speed/Mana and other assorted skills. Speed is extremely important for the Mani Material Mining technique, so having a Justice Binder (can be anything, but needs to be built for Speed first and foremost) is extremely important (since MMM is the quickest leveling technique via mass descent potion crafting).

>> No.21884229

Of course, the use of a Justice Binder isn't just limited to MMM, since some Opatos Starvation Survival setups also like to have a Justice Binder handy as a guarantee, while other set ups like Gluttony Baths ideally will use a Justice Binder in addition to the Full Damage Reduction equipment set just to accelerate the process.

All in all, finding a Justice Weapon (Using a Wish) is a pretty good investment early game.

Because it isn't just about speed. You're also looking to hit minimum Mana, Life, and other skills in order to maximize the use of the various Bath setups (Asura, Gluttony, etc.). MMM also does not favor the use of Snail Riding, because solo MMM uses a Mine Dog and the optimal set up for solo MMM is to ride the Mine Dog in a single cell shelter. If you have to ride a snail, your best bet is to use dual MMM, and dual MMM is a lot more set up intensive because MMM is faith dependent.

Steel Dragon Ring is a terrible item in Omake, because not only is the speed reduction negligible, it also is counterproductive towards a FDR equipment set because it has too many worthess enchants on it, whereas a weapon is never part of the FDR equipment set. (And a FDR set requires every single piece to be contributing because otherwise the blacksmithing requirements get astronomically high - even the base requirements need a single hammer transcendence, and hammer transcendence is stupidly painful to grind out)

They don't level up as fast, they proc exp as fast. But that exp will still be reduced based on the current base level of the stat not the modifed stat level. This can still be a lot faster (especially for magic capacity training), but it's not quite that fast.

>>21885299

That still doesn't make sense. If you have MMM set up already you'd just level your skills using skill points with all the descent potions you can make. You'll gain attributes by just eating herbs using kumiromi's festival spact with hunger demons.

Doing solo MMM with a mine dog will uses the minedog's speed, not yours, plus slowing down won't do anything. You grid mats based on turns passed, not speed, speed only matters if you're waiting for a pet to grid mats.

You also don't need a +1 hammer to get full damage reduction, you don't even need it to get full damage null on a singe piece of gear, ~1200 is enough for that. with a full set of gear you'd only need a hammer around lvl 120 to hit damage null, and that's assuming you don't use high level shields.

>> No.21885397

>>21885370
Conventional training. It isn't so much that your "base stat" for the skill is actually 1, but rather that, because you're dealing so much less in terms of output, you grow faster because you can spam easier. Like if your Tactics for instance is extremely high, you kill things too quickly to really gain that much experience out of it, but if you lower your Tactics, you get more hits, therefore you get more experience and the leveling is faster.

That's the fundamentals behind the Sasumata + Mech. Binder combination.

From what I can tell, your base assumption is that people will use each of the powergrinding methods in conjunction with one another. You're not incorrect in saying that you can level skills via alternative methods, but I'm not sure what merit that has unless our fundamental assumption is that everyone is going to play optimally and use every method in conjunction.

>Doing solo MMM with a mine dog will uses the minedog's speed, not yours, plus slowing down won't do anything. You grid mats based on turns passed, not speed, speed only matters if you're waiting for a pet to grid mats.

You're correct on this.

The proc rate is (EnchantStr/60+3)% unless Omake changed that or another fork decided to use a different formula. 1200 only yields 23% activation. Minimum base enchant strength requires 5820 strength to achieve FDR. You're not wrong that you don't need a +1 hammer to hit FDR (At gemstone softcap of 80 you need effectively 11 pieces given EnchantStrCap = (Hammer Level/10)*50). This then becomes a build issue, where again I'm sure there are situations in which one scenario works and another doesn't.

They don't need to min-max optimally, but then, why would they build a justice weapon for min-maxing? Those things take even more grind.

Yeah, I meant hammer level 1200, not enchant strength. The soft cap of 80 isn't that big of a deal either, It's not that hard to get a few more levels using just skins, it's only a nightmare to go the full way to 1200.

>> No.21885756

>>21885602
I don't get where minmaxing came into this. This entire thread started with considerations of whether you should get the Wicked Treasure or the Saint Treasure, leading in to an explanation of what a Justice Binder is, leading in to what uses there were for a Justice Weapon, before we got into our discussion of other systems like FDR, MMM and whatnot. I was under the impression that we were just discussing these systems for what they were, not a matter of path optimization.

Frankly, I don't really see any of these as minmax strategies, they're just grinding avenues that become available, and there are tools to facilitate them. And admittedly, most of the English community doesn't care enough about Omake forks to even consider doing anything remotely close to these avenues, so the discussion is largely academic. I suppose it only gets a bit more meaningless when we consider that we are talking about a fork where an integrated system that completely negates the grind exists, and it's a system that we can't really consider cheating given that it was intentionally implemented to make the experience more enjoyable for people who wanted to use it.

I mean I could see merit to discussing this in terms of minmaxing if we were considering it in terms of a speedrun to hit the Bingo board, but then...is anyone actually interested in that at all?

>> No.21885776

>>21885756

A justice binder would only exist in the context of min-maxing, but sure. That doesn't have much to do with the original discussion.

There aren't many people posting endgame omake characters, but I think that has more to do with people no longer posting their characters here on the chan. I've actually gotten an endgame oomSEST character myself, and have used the strategies I mentioned. I really would be interested in better power leveling strats should they exist. In particular, I had not really heard about justice binders, just using food and skill points to power level, and bubbling to bootstrap your initial stats. If what I've used is better, though, then I'll stick with it. The newest version of oomSEST lets you reach 9999 base in all stats, so speed is very much appreciated in hitting those new caps.

>There aren't many people posting endgame omake characters, but I think that has more to do with people no longer posting their characters here on the chan

There aren't many people posting endgame omake characters because quite frankly, Omake is substantially more work for "less" payoff than E+ as far as a fork goes, and it isn't reasonable to expect people to be interested in Omake when its main selling point is "grind autistically for the sake of it". That only appeals to a very niche group of players, and Elona is already a very niche game. Critics of E+ may point out that the story's writing is crap and whatnot, but the structure and pacing of E+ is much more distinct than the "sandbox" approach that Omake's Achievement Guidelines takes. People can go through the Acts of E+ and come out relatively satisfied to draw a close on things. People go through Omake and don't really know where to call it quits.

This is probably a problem that many people who have tinkered with Reset Loop Optimization can relate to. Eventually you just get fixated on doing the same map over and over and over, to the point where you don't even know why you're bothering except the routine feels familiar and it's "nice" to just obsessively slaughter Tuwen/Anubis and do nothing else.

It's not to say that Omake doesn't have its own charms and features, but the proverbial cost of entry is higher than the reward. A lot of Omake's quirks are fun to find out second hand and make for entertaining stories, but very aggravating to figure out first hand, even worse for people who have to do it blind (probably nightmarish for those who aren't Japanese literate). It is very hard to deny that from the perspective of players that started with E+, Omake is more of a chore than a game, and most of this general's community followed E+ as the sole fork.

>> No.21885944

In E+, name scrolls do not affect the Living Weapon's available options. Once the Living Weapon is initialized, the options available change by the month.
On the other hand, you might as well just use the blade bow as a ranged weapon.

E+ changed how living weapons work from vanilla. Name scrolls don't alter your level up options. Instead, they change once per month, and they also change every time they get enhanced. If you want to pump it full of one ting (say, magic damage) what I recommend is to wait for the beginning of the next month, and check your level up options. If it doesn't have what you want, give it a +1 at a blacksmith and check again. Once you have your chosen trait, go to the void or something and use that weapon as much as possible within that month to get a bunch of levels of the same ability.

The weapon will get the bloodsucking intrinsic if you go past level 10. A little bit of bloodsucking isn't dangerous, and is arguably beneficial for training healing, but it also interrupts multi-turn actions like pickpocketing and performing, so I don't recommend it on your main character. For pets, on the other hand, a bit of bloodsucking will toughen them up for free. The max level is 15, but if go that far, especially on multiple weapons, the bloodsucking really will be dangerous.

Your blade bow could still be very useful as a stat or resist stick. Load it full of every elemental resist and it'll do way more for a melee character than any other ranged weapon would.

Also rather than waiting for a living sword, why not make your own? Get a pot for fusion and look up the "sharp equip making" recipe. Use it on any sword and you'll get three miracle or godly quality swords out of it. I hear 1 in 20 miracle/godly weapons is living, so it shouldn't take too long to get one.

In the event that you have no clue how CNPCs work in Omake, installation is relatively simple, you unpack the rar, toss the NPC file folder into your user/npc directory, and then you go into the game and pray you run into them somewhere.

In the F12 menu you can use "usernpc" to confirm what CNPCs you've added into the game, and if it implemented correctly, the game should recognize them when you use the command

>> No.21894919

>>21894804
The "blade" part of the blade bow is its proximity assist weapon intrinsic. Whenever you do a melee attack while holding that bow you have a 10% chance to use it for an extra attack that will both do damage and debuff the target's PV. It's a weaker version of the effect you get from the assault gold. Pretty good choice for a sword user's ranged weapon.

Items you craft with crafting skills. They don't consume many materials, but if I remember right they do need a moderately high skill level. Carpentry makes sharp materium, tailoring makes soft, jeweler makes hard. If you haven't used those skills yet, you've probably got a million materials built up in your inventory. Get a carpentry kit and make a bunch of crap to sell to vendors or in your shop. Crafting is a great source of early game money, especially making clothes and dresses with tailoring and waste art with carpentry.

>>21894953
However many you need. Ideally you want superb+ in every element. If you have no resist in anything, getting that element at least up to normal is a high priority. Unresisted attacks do tons of damage and inflict status ailments. When in doubt, you can't go wrong with magic resistance as that protects you from a million different things. If I remember right, living weapons give less magic resistance per level than other resistances, but it's still worth it once everything's at superb+.

I prefer rubynus for everything except two handing. The extra bit of damage is tiny compared to the damage bonus from your strength stat, and the extra accuracy helps a lot. Rubynus is the best material for accuracy. Ether is the best material for damage, but that gives you cancer and adamantium is close enough. Griffin scale is the best for DV and adamantium is the best for PV. Generally you want rubynus or adamantium weapons and adamantium for most of your armor, you especially want adamantium plate mail in your chest slot. Rubynus has the highest stats overall, but most of that is because of its enormous accuracy boost. If you don't need that or the +3 to life then it's not especially good.

You can turn off autosaving in many forks. Though plus, since some version in the 1.60s, requires Custom to "disable anti-savescumming" for that.
With autosaving off you should be able to save with F1 and load with F2.

I prefer to save manually. Not just because I've had autosave corrupt saves before, but also because it just plain feels safer to be in control.
And helps me practice self control against savescumming, which works most of the time.
While also allowing me to go on crazy benders blowing through a bunch of resources and dying countless times from being absolutely reckless without saving any of it at all.
You know, win/win/win.

Well to begin with you'd want to figure out what NPC you're trying to breed, if breeding is possible at all, then go and get a breeder.

Start off by dropping the target breeder's level as much as possible, this is to effective try and raise the rate of reproduction (Breed Power).

Once you have a healthy amount of offspring you start culling for optimal output, which depends on what you're looking for. You're going to want to micromanage at this point in order to figure out which ones you want to keep and which ones you want to cull. Assign a new breeder if that one suits your output needs more.

More recent changes has made micromanagement a bit more necessary even once the ranch is set up, so it's good to get into the routine early.

Is there another element beside pure magic damage that i can put on living weapons? whats the second/third best ones?

Magic -> Lightning -> Chaos is better earlier rather than later. Nether/Sound/Nerve/Poison/Mind/Darkness are roughly the same. Fire and Cold aren't all that great.

So what are some things that MUST be only used while blessed? I know potential potions are one, but what are some others?

on top of my head flying scrolls for altars or inner god weapons, cursed flying scrolls on certain situations

Changing your living weapon's + enhancement changes your level up options. If it doesn't offer magic, have a smith add +1 to it and try again. Ideally do this at the beginning of a month so you can cram as many magic damage levels as possible.

Some people like to go with lightning damage because that does damage if your enemy is wet, but I really don't think that's worth the trouble unless you luck out and get a living weapon that invokes water bolt or something like that.

Scrolls of growth and potions of hermes blood are always worth blessing before you use them. Blessed potions of restore body and spirit give you a very long-lasting and very useful buff to your stats. Drinking one of each every few months will make a big difference. I wouldn't say you should always bless scrolls of change material, but doing so is a very good move if you have a big stack you can bless all at once, especially early game.

In vanilla it's debatable whether potions of potential are arguably better when not blessed (uncursed is +5-75 to one attribute, blessed is +1-8 to all attributes) but in E+ blessed potions of potential have been massively buffed to the point that you should always bless them. Potions of speed upper, on the other hand, do the same thing regardless of whether they're blessed/uncursed/cursed, so don't waste your holy water.

In vanilla you should definitely bless scrolls of gain attribute before using them. I believe it's also worth blessing them in omake. In plus you should never read a scroll of gain attribute, instead give them to Irma in act 3.

A few items are better when cursed. Cursed alcohol makes a brutal throwing weapon in vanilla and omake (I believe it's been nerfed in some way or another in E+). Cursed potions of slow cause you to gain weight which you may more may not want. Cursed potions of restore body and spirit give a nasty debuff equivalent to the buff blessed ones give, not a bad way to soften up a difficult boss. For those reasons, it's often worth keeping a potion of cursed water around (except in omake where you can easily make them yourself).

Oh yeah, flying scrolls. In vanilla and omake blessed ones penalize your item's stats less than uncursed ones and they also offer a better weight reduction. You should absolutely always bless them for lightening equipment. Cursed ones improve item stats at the cost of increasing their weight.

In E+ it doesn't matter too much since they don't affect equipment stats. Bless them if the bottle of holy water is worth less to you than the cost of another scroll or the cost of lightening the item at a blacksmith. If you want to make a superheavy weapon for the critical hit bonus, it's better to first make it heavier at a blacksmith and after dump cursed flying scrolls on it because the weight change is a percent rather than a flat amount.

Plus just hides the stat boost, but you can see it on your char sheet. You can get up to about 40 or so extra damage or defense from high weight. I've heard it's about +1 per 5s.

In E+ weapon and armor weight affect directly your attack and defense. In vanilla flying scrolls directly increase/decrease equipment stats while also modifying weight, but the weight itself does not directly make items stronger or weaker.

My understanding was that equipment weight in E+ only affected your crits and crit resistance. I tested it out in wizard mode, adding about 30s to both a weapon and a helmet. It looks like weight does have a small direct effect on regular attacks but not defense.

Oh, hmm. I only tested weapons myself, I just assumed the armor bit worked too, since I saw results with weapons.

Just tried it in wizard mode, A bronze helmet [0,1] at 447s took me from 0pv to 41 pv. There might be a minimum weight before it kicks in.

Giving it a punishment is counter-productive for practising self control. That would just be following reason as usual.
And I don't want to be averse to savescumming. I don't see anything inherently wrong with it outside of things that need integrity, like competitions.
Just simply choosing not to with force of will, despite having the option and no consequences for it, is more fun. By far.

I might consider playing on loss if the progress in general didn't take so long for the game as a whole.
Permadeath in a multi-hundred hour game is an absurd concept. One that wouldn't really make it harder for me, but rather just make it extra tedious in preparing for absolutely everything before taking ANY risks. Because losing hundreds of hours of play would suck. Even if it's just across multiple playthroughs. Playing risky would nigh guarantee loss, playing safe would take forever and kill the point, and balancing risk to try and pull some fun out of it is so troublesome.
But if EVERYTHING took about 1/20th of the time it does (Not just XP/money; everything), I would be kind of fine with dying and starting over again and again, even very frequently. Roguelikes usually work that way.
But, well, it's still Elona.
Overall progress is more important than "How far I can make it before I die". Because there's just so much to do, and so many numbers to raise. Restarting frequently means missing out on all the end game content for a long, long time; and possibly losing it all even then.
Maybe if the grind itself was replaced. Like no visiting thousands of dungeons, no thousands of levels in the void, and no frequent visits to towns/shops/farms/etc. But fuck, I love grinding.
The very concept is quite conflicting.
