When did exactly Type-Moon lose all of its soul?

Maybe it was when Nasu decided to pull half of Tsukihime's plot from Kizuato and mix it with some of Kara no Kyoukai.

You should try actually reading Kizuato sometime. Oh wait, you can't because you're an EOP.

Then you should know better. They're not really alike beyond surface plot that sets the stages. Putting aside the fact that the first person to spread it around repeated inaccurate details about the plot - which is pretty hard evidence that he never read it himself -
it's more important that although the games share superficial similarities (half of which is a common trope throughout many works), the vast majority of the games diverge and cover different themes, ideas, etc etc to the point comparing them is ridiculous. Kizuato is really bare bones and has no flavour to it really, nothing like the nasuverse and the crazy shit that goes down in Tsukihime. There's just enough similarities to make memes but to anyone who's read both they couldn't be more different.
Like, the reveal of the real murderer in Kizuato is borderline pathetic and the whole thing is really freaking weird and offputting:The murderer just happens to be a cousin of the MC, nothing deep to it just an illegitimate child. His real identity is the detective assistant you see like once in the whole game before the reveal. His murderer motive is just that he was lonely with no friends except one guy befriended him (his neighbor), and then that one guy got raped in the ass by his (male) debtor/master cause he tried to escape from him. That's it. That's the whole main villain, whoopdeedoo. Whereas SHIKI's dual nature with Roa and all that about the Dead Apostles is really interesting in a chuuni kind of way. I mean, compare the Nanaya clan and all that toa clan descended from a pissed off samurai who half-raped a goddamn alien girl who got stuck on earth cause her and a bunch of other alien's ship fucked up when it crashed. I wouldn't go so far as to call Kizuato trash or anything but it's really not good at all, and nothing comparable to Tsukihime past the initial setup.

You say they couldn't be more different, but it just sounds like you liked Nasu's version of Kizuato more than the original.

>> No.21852052

>>21852008
I don't think that Nasu was influenced is something of debate, they do share similarities with the set up. But, where the games go with it, and pretty much everything else about them, is incredibly different.

This. Tsukihime's MC literally just has a worse version of Kara no Kyoukai's MC power.

Mahoyo, KnK, and Tsukihime were pretty alrigh
Fag/Shit night did so much damage to them, and to be fair it was pretty shit to begin with. Easily the worst of Nasus works and the shitty shonen-esque atmosphere did a great job drawing in casuals like moths to a flame.

>> No.21859491

FSN has more in common with Mahoyo and Tsukihime in tone than it does with modern Fate stuff. I think you might be projecting back stuff that wasn't there.

>> No.21859598

>>21859491
It's not AS bad as modern Fate shit, but having played it recently it definitely is a far cry from them. It feels way too shonen-y.

Having read Tsukihime and watched the KnK movies after reading FSN I think the bad stuff was always there but there was more of the good stuff. The mood is so much better in Tsukihime and KnK.

It's all chuuni though KnK, Tsukihime, FSN. Don't know where you're going with this. Maybe Mahoyo not as much but the difference isn't that significant.

July 30, 2015. All the answers from everyone else are all retarded memes that can go fuck off. Never have I seen such surface-level "criticisms" towards any Type-Moon works as in this thread. Jesus Christ.

What exactly are you referring to? And I mean, whoever told you that was wrong from the getgo. Otaku culture is intrinsically tied to video games. Its only natural one would bleed into the other.
