How come? Looking at how Love Cube's translator or editor had dealt with the issue, it seems they actually listened to the line and straight up turned them into a relatively similar sounding english equivalent. I think the simplest method, while simple and more than effective since most readers gloss over such things anyway, is also a bit lazy looking. The first conveys what the sound is ultimately supposed to be about: it's a sucking/kissing/licking sound. The audio method does what the latter does, but better since you're not adhering to the written japanese as much as you're adhering to what the actual voice actress says as you convey those sounds using english.

I don't understand the point of reading Saya without the H-scenes. It's probably the only VN I've read which I think starts to cross the boundary into literature, i.e. if it had been written as a horror novella it could have achieved artistic success in that form as innovation on Lovecraftian themes. In my view this re-contextualizes its H-scenes which, instead of simply being dumb exploitative crap, become transgressive and an integral part of its artistry. It would be like reading Crash by J.G. Ballard without the scene where the protagonist fucks that crippled woman's leg wound.

First was Japanese I think? Apparently all the chargeback for steam codes pissed them off or something, so they dropped MG.

Second was American and hated a few contents like drugs, hypnosis and slavery (which had to be removed from the store). Eventually dropped them for whatever reason.

Third one is unknown, probably American. Apparently was okay with the content, seeing how they brought the hypno titles back. Dropped them for an unknown reason too.

In case anyone is curious, Sengoku Rance is the same price as Rance VI despite not being upscaled or being bundled with a smaller title. $35 seems to be the minimum MG is willing to charge for an Alicesoft title. It's also not discounted for the preorder period yet, though that will probably be fixed once the payment processor is back up. I personally think it should have been a bit cheaper than Rance VI, but it shouldn't impact sales by much. It's still a great price overall; it's just that the Rance VI bundle gives more for the same price. I doubt anyone would complain if Rance 01 ended up being the same price. The other Rance games will likely be $45 with Rance Quest including the expansion pack that doubles its size, Rance IX being in 3D (sort of), and Rance 03 being voiced. Rance X might justify being $50, all things considered, but we'll see.

I wonder if MG is planning to release 01 before IX like the Japanese release order? That would explain why editing hasn't begun on IX or X yet. If MG wanted to, they could do 03 before X. All they would have to do is to space the releases of Quest, 01, and IX enough that they can work on 03 in the background and have it ready for beta testing by the time Rance IX is released. The main problem with doing this is that Rance X's editing isn't something that you can put off if you want to release X within a few months of a different Rance title. It would have to be at least mostly through beta to release within six months or so of a different title.
