Yuyuko's melee is far from shit, and her 623 isn't the best. It's actually kind of lacking. Nearly every other graze attack in the game beats it.

Yuyuko's fanspin isn't bad, I never said that. But it's not that great either. It gets beaten by nearly every other graze attack and it's easily punishable on block. Aside from that, it's pretty neat. And very good anti-air, yeah.

66C for Tenshi is a graze attack. It comes out really quick, has pretty far reach, is unpunishable on block except if done at point blank, and on hit can lead into her 5 card beam.

Her 5C is actually quite horrible compared to IaMP. She could fill an entire screen pretty goddamn quick with fireballs in that game.

Even still, it's annoying as hell but not impossible to beat. Move cancellation window of her 5C fireballs takes ages, and people can take advantage of that. If Patchy doesn't use melee along with her projectiles, the match pretty much boils down to a Story Mode boss fight.

In the right hands, she's pretty buff for reasons already mentioned. Her range is extremely deceptive and she actually hits farther than the tip of her shawl sprite; test it for yourself.

She requires a different mindset than most of the cast, but once you realize her potential, she's a relatively strong character with some weaknesses.

Ok then. I'm trying to best my aerial fighting skill, but I prefer air-to-ground combos.
Like you say, her range is quite deceptive, almost anyone with whom I've played against brakes when I use the drill, and then approach, but the drill still hits 'em. My real complain would be her strongest spellcard.
Her big drill is her best super to me, while I find the 5 star spellcard as not as offensive as the drill or disco lights, although it's a nice defense breaker, but it's still too damn slow.
She's my favorite because she's relaxing to use, and I like that disco gimmick.

Also, the timing in making successful graze is similar to Just Defense (Mark of the Wolves) or Parry (SF3). Meaning you don't just run into the bullets, you have to wait until the very last moments.

On the upside, SWR is a lot more forgiving, since the timing window is pretty wide enough not to mess up as badly.
