Nips have been saying it'll be a new Douglas event for a while now and that'd explain why they haven't given them their shinkis yet and why the parameter adjustments started right after a Soara/Oscroll event. Some Douglas characters have also appeared in recent events and if they release a larger set they can jew with a guaranteed character pack again like they did during Chaguma.

The first anniversary event was Divine Dragon Saga(Excellia/Georg), the second was Soul of Knights(Karen/Dean), and then we had Zero Chronicle and WE. Both the WE and ZC characters are getting a parameter boost on the triumphant gacha so we can probably rule out another event with them in it this year.

Tell me /mbgg/, why are so many people negative towards games with chibi sprites no matter how complex the games are?

I mean look at FGO. I played it for years in the past. The battle sprites, their animations and fair event grind times are the only redeemable things in the game. Meanwhile in "chibishit" GBF everything is fully voiced, new characters and events are delivered without taking a break for 2 months, tons of free stuff during holidays and plenty of ways to get limited stuff including sparks and permanent side stories for the oldest events. Besides, the animations for chibi sprites in Granblue are not that bad. They've been good for a long time now. Same thing with Priconne. The sprites may be worse than those in Granblue but anime cut-ins during unity bursts make up for it. And both games have tons of side content and long term objectives you can work towards to without rushing. FGO has none of it. The only thing you can do between events is farm exp fodders (and farm uncap resourses at unfavorable AP rates/drop).
Same thing with Epic 7 and Idola. The games have fully sized battle sprites but Epic seven feels like it's holding your hand all the time and everything feels so limited and restricted it's no better than your regular cashgrab autobattler. Idola doesn't even have good animations and was DOA when Sega decided to follow FGO's event delivery schedule.

And then there's FEH which sets the worst example for all the chibi sprite games. Low effort in everything yet extremely popular because Nintendrones will eat everything Nintendo.

It doesn't really have anything to do with the chibi style, it's just how each game is developed and maintained by their respective companies and how each game actually plays. Granblue is Cygames' cash cow, they have invested heavily into it since day 1 and it is reflected in the game. FEH is Nintendo's cash cow and is similar to GBF in how it is treated. On the flip side Epic Seven is Korean garbage that is aimed at whales with various gachas, huge time gates that you can bypass with money etc. None of these examples have anything to do with the style they use, that is just entirely personal preference. It's all down to how they actually play.

Comparisons on content depth and scheduling, freebies, and everything else can only come into play once you're interested in giving both games a fair shot.

Because they're actual, literal retards? Look at /e7g/ for example. The gameplay in that game basically consists of leaving your device/emulator autoing the same stage until it runs out of AP and the gacha is all about whaling the moonlight gacha because everyone in ML is basically immune to nerfs and will get buffed if they end up shit but everyone masturbates over it because they don't use chibi sprites for the characters and shitting on everything that does use chibi sprites.

At this point, I just ignore and avoid anyone that goes "haha chibishit!!" and ignores actually great games while playing trashy cashgrabs just because they don't use chibis.

What's with kishi-kun and just straight up ignoring his childhood friends after they change schools/move away? He doesn't have a single childhood friend that he's kept in contact with up til now unless you count Yui and Makoto who he went to middle school with (and wasn't even friends with until recently).

For an autobattler with cute girls Priconne is sure very strict about who you use in the party.
I mean it's not the case of "Character Z does everything better compared to every other character in this role". It feels more like "you can use character Z right away, but every other character in this role needs to be max level with their personal gear before they can become even remotely useful."
Tell me I'm wrong, but I've been getting this impression for a while now. The story became extremely unforgiving with my party choices once I started hitting stages I can't handle that well. At 69.3 frags per month it will take you slightly over 2 months to get the required 145 to unlock Ilya. If you spend jewels to reset the hard nodes you can unlock her even faster.

Who is the target audience for liking near-mute, retarded-child kishi-kun as a protagonist?

From what little I've seen of the youtube vids from the last game, he was much more likeable when he actually had full lines. Would anyone actually be upset if he started having a personality after he gets his memories back?
I like a lot of the characters in the game but kishi-kun being dragged around like a retarded baby by Kokkoro and occasionally getting all the hero credit for 'powering up' everyone is a real buzzkill.

That's why it shouldn't be taken into consideration for general calculations. I mean, yeah, it can be mentioned, but with gacha rates as they are you don't want to be spending anywhere else. Except maybe stamina refreshes for event limiteds. Well, at least that's how it is for me. Even if it takes long, you will get there eventually, so I prefer to not waste anything on permanent stuff.

Motifs could save them but more likely is a new ingot weapon at the anniversary that interacts with the burst gauge like some of the blessed weapons do. Just make it so that it increases skill damage for a while instead of elemental damage after you use your burst attack and they can start powercreeping with that instead.

If you're any rank worth a damn you're making more than that from the arenas. For 50 a day you're doubling the speed of obtaining and/or upgrading characters. It's a good investment when you're spending a single 10 pull per month in order to obtain 1 character MUCH quicker than you would otherwise. Assuming you're not blowing your rolls on certain 8.5s you should have more than enough to have a spark or two so it's not like that's a large amount "lost" either.

From what I gather you get 1 spark point for 1* characters, 10 points for 2* characters and 50 points for 3* characters. And you need 300 total to pick one of the rate-up characters, did I get that right? How many jewels do I need to be safe?

Goddess tears are from duplicate characters and are used to purchase character fragments in the shop to upgrade them. Generally used to upgrade limiteds as there's no other way to upgrade them.

Spark is just rolling 300 times, or 30 10 pulls. That's 45000 gems. Once you've spent 45000 you then get the choice of purchasing the current rate up character at the time on the banner you spent your pulls on. You can't magically pick ANYTHING you want.

While the situation really depends on a person, I'd say that many mobages suffer from locking content behind large amounts of grind. Or even worse: large amounts of time limited grind.
Either pick up a game which doesn't require you to grind much in the first place, or try to adapt to games which are grindy but don't restrict the time for this grind.

Play games that don't demand your entire life be spent playing them. It makes things much more enjoyable, both in terms of playing the games and your actual quality of life. I play GFL, AL and PriConne and I can spend 15 minutes per day on each and not get left behind whatsoever. If I want to sit down and play them for an hour or two I have that option but it's not a requirement. Compare this to a 'grind' like Granblue where you can spend 12 hours a day for months and still be nowhere even close to reaching the top players and you begin to see the bigger picture. It's just not healthy.

But you don't need to be a top player to enjoy Granblue. I've been playing it for years casually and it's still fun. The only things I had to "actively grind" were jutenshu materials and a few Arcarum summon uncap items. And that took only a few days or so. Most of the stuff which makes you stronger isn't time limited in GBF, so you can take your time.
People often like to dismiss the game as a horrible grindfest. But it is a grindfest only as much as you're willing to put time into it.

Compass has updated and introduced 5 new cards themed around Derumin. For the time being, winning a match will have a chance to drop a special Derumin data chip, which will give one of the new cards when opened. This will run from the 17th to the 26th, after which the cards will be added to the standard gacha.
They've also given out a day of prime membership for everyone to try the prime lounge.

Effects from left to right:

>AoE poison - 30% hp damage over 10 seconds

Events (for the most part) are a breeze and you can casually play very easily once you've got a M1 grid or two to your name but you are still very much missing out. Every GW you will be lacking freebies. Every RotB you will be missing gold bars. Any person worth a damn will have most 5* GW characters and have at least a selection of Arcarum characters. They will be in all of the new raids. They will have all of the new weapons. You may "eventually" reach this level as a casual player but it'll be years later down the line and even then that doesn't lessen the huge grind for gold bars during RotB as a casualfag for example.

You can only go so far as a casual if you want to actually 'see' everything. Between RotB grinding, GW nolifing at risk of being kicked from your crew, daily arcarum runs, having to grind events and then just having to grind your grid in general these things all take time. And by the time a casualfag eventually 'catches up' the content in question may not even be relevant anymore - see old magnas etc. so you're moving on to the next thing to catch up on. It's an endless cycle.

You make a sound point though, I'm not going to argue with a position of being able enjoy the most recent content. But let me put it this way: everyone plays for something they like. For me it's enough to use full M1 grids for now. I'm more interested in watching, unlocking and using character I like.

That's a LOT of grinding. Honestly the combination of DPS and healing in her kit makes her look incredibly janky. Very rarely will single target heals make a difference these days when near enough every encounter, both PvP and CB wise, targets your entire party. Then the apparent 'freeze' isn't going to work on bosses either so, from what is theorised at least, she seems pretty weak. Then there's the problem with which slot she is taking since there's already good established DPS magic users and then for healers you have the choice of NY Yui for straight healing or Misato for giving your entire magic team steroids with her disgusting crit uptime while also providing adequate healing. I guess we'll know in a few hours.

Most of the other good xsabers can use the Skull Magna anyway so it seems like a waste unless you're expecting that +15 second buff duration to break a character eventually.

She was a terrible Ilya counter. If Ilya had her usual cronies backing her up (Saren and Monika), and she often did at higher ranks, then Ilya would ALWAYS get her UB off before she got killed. The splash damage from SPeco infact helped her in this regard. The true 'counter' was HShinobu and even then she's not 100% reliable either.
