No but seriously tell me why people don't like Ciel because I really don't get it. As you can see from my rankings I don't think she's a particularly good character but she's also not bad. She's pretty cute, pretty badass, gets some OK development and doesn't have anything really annoying about her. She doesn't really stand out in any way which is why I'm baffled as to why so many people hate her.

She's annoyingly generic. The only interesting aspects of her are when she's pretending, and frankly Kohaku did it better.

Mediocrity is infinitely more irritating than anything else. You can derive something from a character that's so bad or so good - whether it be annoyance, enjoyment, or a combination of the two. They make you feel something. Ciel is just utterly forgettable and might as well have not existed. Her route isn't even good for her - Arc gets some of her best scenes in Ciel's route, and the Roa stuff is great. Ciel, though? Well, who cares? Hence the decade-and-a-half old meme: "Who cares? It's only Ciel."
