2131307 No.2131307 [Reply] [Original]

So I recently discovered that my Umineko installation was missing all the music files with japanese characters in their name, despite installing the thing in Japanese locale. Has anyone else bumped into this problem, and does booting in japanese unicode work?

Also, dling a full bgm folder didn't seem to force the other tracks to play.

We had that in nearly every Umineko thread that lasted for more than 10 hours.

AppLocale doesn't work from the iso. Either run your OS in Japanese local or:
Copy all the files from the .iso to your hdd in a folder (let's call it ISOfolder)
Start the installer from the HDD with AppLocale and install from there in ANOTHER folder.

After that, check if the number of files in the target bgm folder is the same as in the source bgm folder.

Run the oncripter.exe with AppLocale.

If I just replaced the new bgm folder would it work if I ran onscripter in applocale?

There is no Japanese Unicode you retards.
The entire point of Unicode is that it's an universal encoding system so that you don't need language specific encodings.

Just checked, apparently it does.

Nevermind.

You also have folders for sound effects. Those are in Japanese, too.
And system sounds.
And everything else.

Are these the only ones?

I can get them from someone else, but is there anything else that needs to be replaced?

If you want to be sure then follow Austria's description and reinstall it, your saves will remain. These are the only music files as far as I know

I read that the Wind translation patch for ep 1 only works if you have the 1+2 disk, but I can't seem to find one that I'm sure is it.
Checked Hongfire, Tokyotosho, Btjunkie, and of course /rs/.
Somebody want to help me out?

Accidentally uninstalled my original installation to get this to you, though I didn't really lose anything, saves are still there.

If anyone else has this problem, this is all of the files that are missing. Just unrar it all and put it in your Umineko directory. The Japanese exe and readme are pointless, but they're small enough. You need to run the game under japanese locale or in applocale to get it to actually play these sounds.
