Anyway, I think a lot of the bias in this thread stems from /jp/ and the larger 4chan community's unwarranted sense of self-importance. A lot of you are still stuck in that jaded highschool boy mindset where life is some sort of grand cosmological struggle, and you view yourself as a beacon of logic cutting through the dark shadows cast by your beer-swilling bro-fisting untermensch peers. You don't want to associate with these cretins (prehaps rightfully so!) because you view yourself as a high-minded individual: somebody beyond the desires of drink and flesh. This mindset is most likely inspired by your own ineptitude rather than any sort of aesthetic devotion, but you'd rather not "taint" yourself regardless. I've been there and done that.

My hope is that some of the posters in this thread will mature through daily life experiences and come to find that they are not that shining star after all. Those deep thoughts and intelligent musings that you are so proud of have been pondered a billion times over and expounded upon by people much more worthwhile than you. With that, there is no reason to preserve your wonderfully clean mind. You and me are dirt, /jp/. That's why we are both here in the first place. So instead of being so judgemental, learn to live like the dog you are once in a while and slightly rearrange your perception. It's fun.

Or maybe you just don't like the taste. That's cool too. Just stop making such pretentious arguments, because nobody here matters.

I have never had a friend in my life (But I'm not ronery) and i drink because i love being drunk, it makes me feel emotions which i normally can't. It makes me happy.

I drink alone in my parent's basement, while telling people on /jp/ why i drink. Right now.

If you don't drink its either because you're an asshole who uses Teetotalism as a way of feeling better then those "filthy drunks", you've never tasted the fruits of alcohol, or you're too susceptible to the negative aspects of alcohol to enjoy the the good ones.

Nice attempt at turning the tables with a /b/ reference, but the fact that this is even an issue in the first place is what is most disheartening. Could you imagine if the same ruckus was raised over a different everyday activity that most adults do, like eating meat or driving a car? It's not that non-drinkers aren't cool, it's that the ones in this thread have an absolutely nonsensical worldview and a 40 pound chip on their shoulder. But smoking /is/ for losers. It's becoming less and less socially acceptable to smoke. Governments keep pushing stricter laws that forbid smoking in a shitload of places.

It's fucking hilarious to watch people smoking in the rain in front of their workplaces because it's forbidden to smoke inside.

Enjoy being socially excluded, slowly.

Drinking, however, is always socially acceptable in moderate sums.

Do you go out to eat at restaurants at all? It's a waste of money. Do you eat perfectly healthy all the time? If not, not only are you wasting your money, but you're also slowly killing yourself.
