with kohaku, use jb more in air to air. you can get a counterhit pretty often and then follow up on the ground. as you learned, don't tech so often. ground teching any more than 30% of the time usually isn't worth it, since OTG combos don't do that much and len oki isn't that good anyway. be careful with your 2c poke, its slooow if whiffed. also, check out the koha/hisu combo since hisui's assists pretty good, especially when they're under plant pressure.

The problem is the stick sensitivity. It has a very light touch, which is good, but the dead-zone is ridiculously large, so that you have to move the stick at nearly a forty-five degree angle (I am not exaggerating) to pull off simple rotations, else it hardly registers. I spent ten minutes in Practice trying to pull off Mechisui's first-level BIIMU, for instance, and by the end of that time my wrist was profoundly sore but I had only managed to pull off maybe eight. The hat switch helps, but using that kind of defeats the entire point of having a stick.

And then there's the hat switches in general, which isn't a problem with the switches themselves (except for the placement, which is bizarrely placed on the stick and uncomfortably finger-sticked on the throttle) but the fact that the game doesn't identify more than one of them. In fact, if you map it to buttons, like I prefer too, in netplay it won't pick it up at all. In fairness, this is a problem with the software and not with the stick.

Because of this, it's necessary to use the buttons. The trigger is a two-stage, which is great for AB DASHUUUUUU but not so great for B-anything else (and it also demands a great deal of compusure to calmly press A instead of AB in the middle of a match). There's a pinky trigger, which is good, but the remaining four buttons feel very oddly placed - there's two extremely uncomfortable and tiny buttons in the upper right, and one soft button in the bottom left which should feel comfortable but for some reason isn't. There also is a FIRE button on the top, under the flip-lid, but the hat switch blocks it and makes it too uncomfortable to use most of the time.

BNBs are just meant to max out the damage. The point of the game is to deal more damage than you take. BNBs are designed so that you you will do 3.5k damage instead of 1.2k damage when you get a poke.

He probably means stop jumping around and doing stupid shit erratically. Of course, any good player will always beat a new mashy player. There is probably no sense to your movement and actions and it's just annoying to play someone who consistently does retarded shit and never learns to stop mashing on wakeup (or anywhere).
