No, you're misunderstanding: the American laws are my only protection. If Google has to abide by shithole laws and report shithole dwellers who google things in breach of shithole laws to their local shithole law enforcement, I'm fucked. If Google abides by American laws only, then I'm apparently safe but on a list: if the list is kept by Google and/or only the American law enforcement but they don't give it to local shithole law enforcement, that supposedly means I won't be arrested.
However, if they notify shithole law enforcement about people in shithole countries who end up on that list, I'll definitely be arrested even if my violation of laws is as minor as it could be.

It works for some serious metal bands, so he's trying to make them more serious and metal. It sucks, it isn't Babymetal anymore. They should change the name at least. Babymetal hasn't been what it was for years, they keep straying farther and farther away from what made them so much fun and pushing the sticks farther and farther into their asses to keep from facing the reality that neither they nor their fans are having fun anymore. It's just boring now, I imagine the reason Yui got sick is the fact that Babymetal has been consumed by a cancerous growth that started to plague it as soon as they released their debut album and went unchecked for so long that the original form became completely distorted and is dying as its very cells commit suicide. The cancerous larping is a side effect of this, it's not "let's have fun and put an air of mystery to what we do" at this point at all and it's just an excuse to not get chemo.
Yui did the right thing by leaving, I'd believe it if it was said she literally got cancer from the larping. The bullshit is clearly taking a toll on all of them, the remaining members are just hiding it better but becoming even more immersed in it will only make it hit harder when it hits. Consider how young they were when it started, it's not impossible that they're suffering from some kind of collective psychosis by now where they really believe in some Fox God and shit. They're on their way to becoming a cult together with their autistic fans that will eventually commit mass suicide. It's bullshit and cancer and should not exist, least of all under the name Babymetal.
I fucking loved early Babymetal, it was exactly what I'd wanted to hear for years and I know I'm not the only one who feels a sense of longing for it and who felt a sense of belonging when they started to gain traction. Like this is something that could grow into a real scene, beyond just its unrecognised roots in synthcore. Maybe it's because they never recognised their roots that they've so actively been distancing themselves from what made them in the early days: maybe they feel guilt for riding the wave that they didn't push into motion and for never acknowledging that they weren't the first to do what they were hailed as the inventors of. Maybe that's the root of their cancer.

This forever.

The thing is, they didn't invent "kawaii metal" at all so it must be a huge weight on their minds and bodies to claim they did. Consider it from the beginning, when they believed they were doing something totally new and different (which for the girls was true) and didn't get the pressure of being a real band. They didn't have to face the fact that they weren't the first to do what made them huge because they weren't huge yet, and when they did blow up, they learned that there had been others doing what they did all around the world. They learned that the only thing that made them unique was that they were cute girls rather than guys in their parents' basements and that they had the industry backing them up as opposed to being DIY like their predecessors had to be because they had no choice.
If they weren't cute girls, they would've been just one more synthcore band that would be forgotten within a year or two. But they were cute girls and so young, idols with an agency pushing them, they couldn't have failed because the masses wanted exactly that at that time. Koba was a tactical genius in that atmosphere, he had the zeitgeist by the balls. If someone said that Babymetal killed the entire genre of synthcore, it wouldn't be too far from the truth. It may be making a comeback recently, but they hit the world at just the right time: the second wave of scene kids was still young but already facing the onset of adulthood, the first wave was yearning for their childhood and everyone was obsessed with everything Japanese. Nobody could do the same in the west, so they had all of the market to themselves. But what happens to every synthcore band had to happen to Babymetal as well, even if they proclaimed themselves separate from that scene: they grow up. Koba can't keep the girls young forever, so instead he introduces another gimmick that doesn't rely on their youth.
