Yeah, for those literal boomers and some gen xers that want to know what is their son/daughter doing all day in his/her room.
If you can turn on a computer, you don't need media magazines.

The only helpful ones are the ones dealing with DIY stuff; not even academic ones are good since they never support the ones they're getting the information from.

compared to Japan, I’d maybe say a couple hundred. though, that’s just me saying this.

Magazine sounds like the American version of how people perceive otaku culture in Japan.
From personal experience, I don’t always think these type of mags are accurate. It’s mainly like the gossip magazines I see in the supermarket.

It occasionally gets a well-researched ojisan article. But those don't sell so it's mostly all the pablum of Newtype USA except with less art spreads. Overall 4/10 if you care about the good stuff you probably follow the guy who wrote it on Twitter or one of his friends who will spend a week yelling about how you need to buy the new issue.

I thought this was one of those 4chan parody magazines and not, like, an actual magazine.

Wow.

I saw that magazine once at Walgreen's and was slightly tempted to buy it out of curiosity. Ended up passing though.

It's a meh magazine, good for if you have nothing to do and want to waste 5 minutes.

I still buy it. It used to be better. They used to have way more stuff. I remember one time they had an article about 4 Godzilla woodwork figures for sale in japan. Another about a 5 foot tall gun dam plamo. I learned about Jlist, peach princess and h-games through it which led to me playing VNs and eroge.
