Years ago I used to really dislike /jp/ mods but now I see what it's like when they drop the reigns. We get proud tertiary fans here to dump their booru images with a dumb "I want to ___ this __" or "The___ of [touhou character]" and then leave again after killing a productive thread.

If it keeps happening I'll have to seriously think of another place to go for this kind of thing. It'd still have to be an imageboard, I appreciate the format.

thats the future of not just search terms on youtube, but eventually all search terms on the internet. Over the past 7 years I've watched all kinds of innocuous terms get commoditized into fetish junk or commercial vlog keywords.

Search for them in japanese. You can find the keywords for what you want to look for using nicovideo taglists. Also when possible, use google search limited to youtube, not youtube search. Google's search will almost invariably give you better results. Lastly, avoid katakana, as the search engine will try its best to transliterate as much as it can into english and pollute your search.

You can't see from the picture but it's actually snowing now, doesn't look like the blossoms are going to last long this year. The Ueda cherry blossom camera is in a different position from last year, looks like they are setting up a stage for something too.

Here is a highlight that I cropped down to just the studio camera.
It seemed to be three stages - in the first, the monkey is introduced and walks around stage, then leaps over bars at set heights. Then, it walks around on stilts. The third performance involves leaping across the two stair blocks as the distance widens, and then there's a short speech afterwards. It ran twice with a 15 minute break between sets.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but it's been really bothering me lately.

I just moved into a new office that looks straight down onto the Tokkaido Shinkansen. All of the trains look so white and clean from the side, but some of them are just disgusting from above - brown or almost black, for the entire top of the train. Some are lighter brown and others are nearly white - I guess they just don't clean the top very often?

Anyways it sucks to see such a cool train being so dirty, and I wanted to complain somewhere.

I've been noticing that each of my browsers has different stutters when watching streams. Brave gets a constant chugging one that interrupts smooth movements, and Waterfox (and anything based on Firefox, actually) has one stutter every 10-12 seconds as it does its tab save bullshit.
I wonder if there's a way to fetch streams in a simple program that can display them but not have any overhead processes going on to ruin frames.

I use VLC for recording mainly because it handles stutters in mjpg streams better than most mediaplayers i have tried so far, but using VLC with streamlink i haven't noticed any stuttering from youtube streams either.
Also nice because you can set the window to display a 50% zoom of the stream while still recording at full resolution, makes better use of my monitor space.
I think there is a guide to setting up streamlink in the links in the OP, it's a very simple .bat file for each stream you want to load.
Only issue is having keep going through all the .bat files and updating the url to the streams every once in a while.

It's all about the timing, recording is the easy part, finding just the right time to do so is the problem. All comes down to what you want to capture.
I usually watch a stream for a few days and only start recording if i see conditions look to be good. Sunsets, sunrises, odd weather and nighttime traffic is easymode.

Not quite, but i probably should.
I am a bit of a simpleton when it comes to these things and too stubbornly stuck in my ways sometimes (I still use software from the 90s and early 00s daily), i record the stream as i watch it in VLC then throw it into editing software to turn the speed up to 60x. (I am lazy and 60x is easier to calculate the length and size of the output file in my head while recording)
For more close up video with more detail something like 20-30x speed is probably better or you lose too much detail.

I was listening to it with headphones enjoying the quiet morning nature sounds and someone just rang a large bell or gong that sounded to be just behind the camera.
I almost fell out of my chair.

I have to say, surprisingly good audio if it wasn't for the static, can easily pick up people talking on the ground below.

If i were to guess i would say all settings have been reverted to default on the camera, auto everything.
It seems to struggle a bit with focus and sometimes it looks like backlight compensation snaps on and off briefly.

It's a dome type, so image quality was likely not one of its selling points
