So, I installed fate/stay night because everyone on here keeps on harping on about it and what the hell why not
Anything I should know before I play it? And don't say "don't play it" because that thing took way to long to install and I'm going to play it even if it kills me

(pic unrelated)

Play more, whine less.

You'll first get into a prelude section. It just starts as soon as you open the game, there's no main menu yet or anything.

Savor it, this is the best part. It all goes downhill after that.

What would you possibly need to know? Just play the damn thing.

Keep expectations low. You might enjoy it more that way. Also, long game is long. Fate route alone will probably take 15+ hours.

The prologue is pretty fucking boring, but stick with it. It gets a lot better after that.

So when you get a new book, you ask other people about what you should do?

>> No.2098459

1. Read it.
2. Don't expect anything. Don't expect to have the main character be X, or for Y to get killed, or for Z to kill somebody. If you go into it with no expectations, either good or bad, you should be able to enjoy it.
3. If you get stuck, use the flowchart. Seriously, the damn thing is a godsend at times.
4. Don't bother trying to get into other routes until you've finished the one you're on; the game is programmed to only let you progress through them in a specific order.

So when you rent a movie, you ask other people about what you should do?
