x2 drops in NM I'll happily blow through both 40 and 60 refreshes. I don't tend to refresh during HM but I will spend 50 to enable 3 more tries at the node which is extremely useful, especially during the current x3 bonus. Anything else and I don't particularly feel the need to blow my crystals. I could perhaps see an event welfare character getting a few refreshes to help towards grinding fragments but outside of that it's not really worth it.

Its not "Intentionally frustrating to progress". Its a casual game you play like two or three times a day, dump your stamina and come back the next day. The entire content and point of the game is slowly working on everyone and keeping your characters up to date with latest items/ranks.

Keyword here is "Casual". As in something you don't have to play for hours a day to keep up so tools that would help you play for longers would be out of place in a casual game. Do you get it now or do you need me to explain how not every game out there is a grindfest that wants you to be glued to your phone/emulator?

Sometimes I wonder if people who say things like this forgot how game progression works. When new difficulties were added it took a while until day 1 players could comfortable beat each boss as well. It should be obvious someone who just started and doesn't have a large pool of characters can't do that right away.

Clear all the stages leading up to the boss and reset without fighting it. VH boss is easy kill at 55-60, especially with today's powercreep too.
EX is where it becomes tricky because you need 100-110+ teams and multiple teams to not die like a bitch but clearing the regular stages of EX and resetting gives more coins than doing full VH clears.

New players are starting with 200+ rolls during a princess fest with bullshit broken characters and if one of them happens to have new years yui then they invalidate the mechanics of the entire fight and just trivialize it. Like that other anon said get some from story and also read your character sub stories if you haven't done it yet, each one gives an orb too. Once you have enough presents also get your collab characters to 10 (rainbow characters are easier to bond with, including Ix and Mileena) to get lots of diamonds and their second sub story which will give you another orb. There is not much time left so you should really get those shards even if you have to refill.

Stop feeding Monika and Io, they're pretty damn weak. Maho isn't very useful either aside from PvP defence. Normal Tamaki, Mutsuki, Shiori should get more love. Yukari is one of the most useful supports in the game so invest more into her too. Kaori is still one of the best selfish DPS in the game so don't ignore her either. Suzuna falls off heavily and is extremely slow in terms of her DPS so you really should go elsewhere (Shiori/Arisa). The hag healer is also really nice to have levelled though I forgot her name, the red haired priest. Eriko and Peco go from mediocre to absolute top tier with unique equipment so don't neglect them either or you'll regret it later.

It's a nice HP boost and hardly noticeable atk/matk boost. It's not required at all to be 70 and everyone does fine at 60. Due to the insane amount of exp required none of your characters are actually going to hit 70 for a long time since events with exp gem boxes you can farm are quite rare so at most you'll get them to 65 and stop there, but eventually you're gonna want to get as many characters as you want to 70 because of the trophies and their diamond rewards.

When it comes to Tales characters their shards will show up again in future event shops so you'll be able to get them eventually, it's fine to skip them if you need to buy something else. As for collab characters so far the only one that has been rerun has been the first Idolmaster event so if you don't get Claire and Alisa's shards now, you're gonna be waiting a long time until the event is rerun (possibly a year) or a sequel collab happens.

Now that I finally got all three NY twinkle wishes to 5*, decided to do a comparison of the two Hiyoris.
Here's a picture of their stats, the regular's attack power and critical are corrected to disregard the personal equipment, but since I don't have full values for the final level 130 item, I can only extrapolate; it'd add somewhere around 600+ attack and 130~ crit, give or take.

Both are at level 121, rank 12, all equipment fully upgraded, max skill levels, all story scenes unlocked.

Stat-wise, NY version is a trade off of less HP for more attack and crit (and a few other minor changes). That's before the original's personal equipment, however. Factor that in and even if NY buffs herself and the party, the original still is likely to out-DPS the NY version.

So, basically, I spent thousands of whale tears to use a marginally inferior second Hiyori. But hey, she's cute.

It's too late to make a new one in my opinion. God Eater Online got the gameplay part somewhat right but everything else was pretty bad, didn't last long until it was shut down. Bamco decided to bet on Resonant Ops and made it the true GE mobage, going as far as making it canon to the main story but the gameplay is trash. I don't see them abandoning it to make a new one at this point.
