Post photographs and videos you or others have taken around Japan.
Modern or traditional, urban or rural, landscape or macro, anything is good.

Try to keep pictures natural looking if possible.
If you know the location a photo was taken, it is useful to post it with the image.

>> No.20935955

Bombs and drop tanks are the same shape for a reason, aerodynamics.

As for your camera, you should shoot in whatever the native aspect ration of your camera is, that way you use the full sensor. You can crop it later if you want a different aspect ratio, and you would have had the same effect as switching the mode on camera. If you need help framing, there are different focus screens available for DSLRs that will have frame lines, or if you are shooting mirrorless it should be a menu option somewhere.

>> No.20936633

>>20935955
Well now that you say that it seems obvious, haha.

Ok i was wondering how that would work with the aspect ratio and if it would then just be "losing" some pixels.
The struggle to frame that photo is because the helicopter was flying kinda high, i think i was at like 20x optical zoom to get that pic, so just following it overhead was difficult. But thats not a bad idea, i will see if the camera has that option as it will help for some things.
I was using one of those "bridge" cameras, that are sort of considered between a point and shoot and a DSLR, dont have the money for a DSLR right now (or moreso the good lenses to go with one). Plus i like the relative simpleness and stock having like 40x optical zoom with no need to switch lenses and things.

I don't have much experience with different countries but Japan is pretty bad in regards to that kind of shit.
The road rules are basically if you are past the line when the light turns red you can still go, so they push the limits as hard as they can, often crossing the line after the light has already turned red.
And it's not just common, it's just about every time the lights change.

in Takayama? It's fairly small town, so you can really explore everywhere within two or three days. If you haven't booked somewhere yet I recommend Ryoukan Takayama (first result on booking.com), it's really comfy. There is the "old town" there which is really nice, lots of old buildings and shops to enjoy. There are some free museums which have quite a lot of old drawings and armour in them. I would really recommend climbing the mountains however (they are really easy to climb, it's like a walking trail). On top of one has the ruins of an old castle, though there's not much to see, and on the other is a really comfy cafe (the owner speaks English well, but it's a little bit expensive). I can't remember when, but there is also a festival which happens in Takayama. And of course there is the main shrine there.

This photo is in the mountain which had Takayama Castle on top of it. It's so pretty in the winter.

I think they have a really developed aesthetic sense. Not saying "japan is superior" or anything because they could be lacking in lots of ther things, but they just take a lot of care about how things look and feel, more than almost anyone else. You can see that in videogame covers, house decoration, food presentation or anything visual.
