Could be worse. Your first experience with Umineko could have been the anime. And then you only read it years later after the entire thing is translated, intentionally missing out on any and all ongoing discussion about it. As well as finding no one to talk about it with for years because it's difficult to recommend a visual novel that's over 1 million words long.
Be happy Ciconia is coming soon, but don't expect it to live up to what Umineko was like at its prime or else you will keep setting yourself up for disappointment. Find a balance by having hope that Ryukishi still has some tricks up his sleeve and focus on enjoying his next wild ride instead of trying to compare it to Umineko. There's also a new chapter coming for Umineko Saku, which means it's our last chance to experience a new Umineko. Don't lose hope just yet.

What is the weakest episode of the serie for you ?
In my opinion, probably the second one. I loved it. But if I had to choose, it would be this one because it was quite similar to the first one.

I could say the fourth game too because all the shit with Ange and Maria in modern time was a pain in the ass(even if it was necessary). But I loved everything else about it.

I can't really name a favourite... My favourite Umineko episodes are probably 2 and 8 (which seems to be an upopular opinion here?), though 5 is really good too. Episode 1 is definitely my favourite Higurashi episode, it only goes downhill from there.

Was anyone else here kind of disappointed by the Higurashi answer arcs? I didn't really find the "solution" all that interesting and I don't really care for Takano that much.

The best method I've found is using a keyboard based browser (qutebrowser or a similar firefox/chrome extension) for faster scrolling instead of using the mouse so that my hand doesn't get tired. That still doesn't solve the problem of going through 50k untagged tweets however.

And for Higurashi, Chie is literally Ciel, curry love included because Ryukishi loves her and the paranoia / difficult reality grasp thing resembles Tsukihime far side routes greatly.
I'm not saying he ripped anything off though, I love Higurashi and Umineko way more than Tsukihime but it's obvious Ryukishi likes it and that it has inspired him to write his games. To be honest it inspired most doujins writers.

Not only Nasu and Ryu are in great terms with each other and even published serialized novels together on Faust, they never seem to show anything but respect for each others' works and incentive to new dedicated VN creators (to a point Ryukishi once said he was passed the batton from Nasu, and now sees himself passing to works like Sharin no Kuni and Corpse Party franchise, back in 2011 in the final Faust edition, Vol.08).

And yeah, R07 was a big fan of Book of Shadows... which is surprisingly the least favorite of the series by everyone since it had loads and loads of text, but without RPGmaker gameplay nor too much gameplay in general, but nonetheless, the best storytelling in the series thus far.
