A gravure idol (グラビアアイドル gurabia aidoru), often abbreviated to gradol (グラドル guradoru), is a Japanese female model who primarily models on magazines, especially men's magazines, photobooks or DVDs. Gravure idols appear in a wide range of photography styles and genres. Their photos are largely aimed at male audiences with poses or activities intended to be provocative or suggestive, generally accentuated by an air of playfulness and innocence rather than aggressive sexuality. Here's something I notice sometimes, 60 fps video that's actually 30 fps. Just because you set handbrake to 60 fps doesn't mean you will get 60 unique frames per second. Instead what'll happen is each frame will be duplicated and this is utterly pointless. If the source is a dvd or blu-ray, you will not find a video with a native progressive framerate above 29.97. Only interlaced video can be de-interlaced with Bob to achieve 59.94 fps. Could this become a problem? Well if you like to watch videos with SVP or some other frame interpolation technology, your tv most likely has one built-in as well, then these duplicate frames will reduce the effectiveness of the frame interpolation (they can't generate a unique frame from 2 frames that are exactly the same).

How do you know if a video is really 60 fps or fake? In mpc go to where all the key bindings are for commands, and find the one that says "frame-step". Use this command a few times on the video, if each frame-step is unique, then it's truly 60 fps, otherwise it's 30

yeah you can't trust the back of the box, you always have to look at the individual frames (technically they're called "fields" when it's interlaced).

I believe the 4k ultra hd discs do support a native 60 progressive frames per second, but who fucking knows if gravure will ever be released in that format.
