A decision has not been made, but the options considered are Renpy, Kirikiri 2, and Onscipter. Kirikiri has no English documentation, so it is unlikely it will be used. Renpy has, sadly, the most support, and it will most likely be used except by the few who wish the escape the stigma of Lemmafail Forums and will use Onscripter.

I think Dandelion Girl is using Renpy, or at least the mock up was.

Anyway guys, serious about that forums thing.

You may be limited to media, but from the total of videogames, anime, manga, cartoons, comics, and COMIC books, it still ranks on the 'above average area', or better put, 'non suck ass and generic and copied to the point you confuse artists with a mismatched style that does not even work for the medium' area.

It's a funny fact that half of the DOUJINS made for F/SN have better art, but the other half is worse, with a small percentage being scarely close.

Because Kirikiri 2 is in fucking Japanese and Onscripter is literally older than you are mentally, making it gimp as fuck. I guess you can't read, though.

The current KS engine is more or less customized and is vastly different from base renpy. You can customize renpy until it's not shit if you put some time in it, and if you do, it's decent.

Key started out bad but then got a lot better.

Like hell are we giving up. It seems that MakeForum, the host of the forum (and many other forums) fucked up and let both 2ksite and some other domain expire, making a lot of their forums inaccessible.
The good news about this, though, is that we'll probably get the board back without any loss of data. I doubt MakeForum would just drop two domains with countless forums.
The bad news is that MakeForum support seems to suck. Hard. I have no idea when we can expect the forum to be back up.

You know, drama and LOL FAG LEMMASOFT shit aside, Ren'py can be a really powerful engine if you use it right. If you can do regular coding well, you can probably get a lot out of it. A lot of the negative stigma surrounding it is because of fags who want to make LOL AWESOME VNS always sticking with the piece of shit defaults. You can easily fuck with the size of windows, buttons, make a custom icon, arrange menus, change the colors and templates, etc. and make a fairly cool-looking finished product.

The problem is that most people just don't fucking bother.

This has always struck me as bizarre. I screwed around with ren'py for a bit and was pretty surprised at how easily I could make the interface look very different. Yet practically every OELVN I see is using the generic default setup. What the fuck? They're putting half-assed effort into their writing and art, why do they ignore the interface?

I'm taking a class to learn C++, and I've got to say... it's the worst thing ever. Not the language, of course; it's much simpler and better-flowing than Java was. But the course is just utter bullshit. The guy spends two hours of lecture every week spewing crap about how operators work, and what pointers do, and where all this data is going, but not once has he said anything about how to make all this stuff happen. He says 'If you do X, the computer does Y and it's more efficient because ....' but never tells us how to do X.
