Is Yume Miru Kusuri a good next VN to pick up? I tried Chaos;Head, but the pacing was seriously irritating me. I'm not really huge on the VNs, the only ones I've played all the way through are Tsukihime (and Kagetsu Tohya), F/SN, and Utawarerumono.

Ever17 is slow at first, I'll give you that. But epic doesnt even begin to describe how awesome the ending for this VN is. If you are to pick up ever17, you should follow 2 rules. 1) Avoid all spoilers, and 2) Read it to coco's route.

Well, most of the story is more about developing the characters and giving you vague hints as to what's going on than anything else, but it does become more engaging than just running around looking for stairs. Still, if you didn't like Chaos;Head for the pacing, waiting until the final route for shit to finally go down in Ever17 might be a bit much for you.
