then what game that released this year would you say was better? the production values are high and there's a lot of content to work through. the worst parts of the game are the furries in the gacha and the separate whale gacha but the characters from that are mostly for pvp. the gameplay is enjoyable and character kits are varied enough that team building is fun and it has an auto mode for comfy farming.

Not really saying much when there's stuff like Tagatame, Another eden and Princess connect for amazingly high production values to name a few because there's more games with great production values in this thread and the game is missing something extremely important that is JP voices. The only options you have for this game are Korean and godawful English dubs so I always play it on mute which really makes you feel like something is missing.

The good is that the gameplay is pretty fun. There's a lot of tactical gameplay that you can enjoy, a good amount of content to clear and its sort of enjoyable to just mindlessly grind things in the game so I can definitely give it that.

The bad is that its extremely unpolished, its missing a million basic QOL updates from the ability to name your teams to 2x battle speed or the option to skip these anime cutscenes with "high production values" that you have to sit through which gets a lot more painful if you use a character where you're stuck seeing the same S3 animation every single minute if you use characters that spam it like Diene and/or Challenger Dominiel.
Game is also extremely grindy which is to be expected from a Korean grind because you have several layers of RNG on everything and you even have to pay to unequip gear which shouldn't even be there because it discourages you from experimenting or messing around with characters or builds due to the cost of constantly moving gear around.
Gacha is also extremely unfriendly, you get a free daily roll limited to the normal gacha but the rates would make games like FKG or F/GO blush with how low they are and then there's the existence of the moonlight gacha that can make or break the game for you because its a gacha inside a gacha that you can only pull once every 120 normal rolls. If you got some godlike account seed and managed to grab great characters from it then good for you but if you got a string of Arowell, Gunther, Gloomyrain, Mirsa and Hurado then its likely that this will affect your enjoyment of the game and are highly more likely to ragequit than someone that got Shadow rose and Ilyos axe for example.

Overrall, its a pretty decent game that i've been enjoying but its really nowhere near best anything. Would only reccomend if you want to play a fresh English FOTM and don't mind KRMMO grinds.

the only game there that released this year is priconne and while the production values absolutely blow epic seven away, the actual gameplay is too limited and boring in comparison. there's less content, less mechanics, and team building is more straightforward as a result. although that's not to say e7 doesn't have its own share of problems with certain buffs and debuffs being mandatory if you want to beat harder content, which also restricts team building.

i agree with you completely about the game needing some important qol improvements, not being able to skip skill cutscenes is unacceptable with how ubiquitous diene is. moving gear around is the most annoying limitation but gold in general is way too hard to come by for how much you need to use to do anything and it adds another layer of grinding in an already grind heavy game. the best week in the game so far was the release of the new raid where the unequip cost was removed and that really needs to become the norm.

as for the gacha, the actual rates are better than fkg and f/go but the difference between fgo and e7 is only .25%. the whale gacha is pretty fucked even if they're mostly pvp units because there are some cute girls walled behind it and it will most likely be what causes most players to quit. the worst part is that they're adding new units to it after people have already blown most of their free rolls and while they've been decent with giving out the currency for it from raid bosses and events, we'll have to see if that keeps up or if they become more jewish with it to sell packs.

that being said, if you don't mind huge grinds i think it's still the best game to come out this year. maybe that speaks to how poor the releases were this year but the amount of content that e7 has to offer shames a lot of older releases, let alone new ones.

Like that other anon said it's hard to say. When the tower came out it was harder than it is now and we already had a decent amount of characters. The tower right now is piss easy on purpose since the real challenge is on 51-60F which is completely optional. I'd say you want enough characters to make 3 parties. Orb count also matters a lot since if you have 4 characters with a high orb count you can take them all the way to 50F without problem but if your characters have a low-mid amount of orbs then 3 or 4 parties should be enough. Your first party should be able to get to 30F and beat it or die there due to lack of orbs. Second party takes over and last until 40F or so, and the last one last until 50F and beats it. Try to spread your healers if you have more than one and put a melee in the 4th slot to act as a tank.

How? You will beat E7 PvE in few months. If you luckshitted few good characters and started playing global from release then you already did it. And here comes troubles, because PvP is absolute boring ass garbage, where you cant do anything fun, no matter how big your creativity is.
Meanwhile in SS you could do bunch of crazy stuff, if you had guts to try and do it. People even managed to broke a system with OHKO team cheese. Game became all about legendaries...after 3 years? Thats good record for mobage.
E7 is just a pure cashgrab from very beggining and until end.

Because E7 has actual gameplay while soccer spirits gameplay was akin to playing table soccer on the few modes that allowed you to manual instead of just forced auto. It also had the same issue E7 has with only KR/EN voices which isn't too good.

Eventually its going to go the same P2W way of every other Korean mobage with insane powercreep and ridiculous p2w shit but for now its pretty decent even if every character in the game is hags and fags with not a single little girl. Closest to little girls would be Charlotte an Chloe I guess.

I still don't understand what the fuck was everyone's problem with Serge's fish market, those two minutes are nothing. For me it was a comfy quest with barely no need to move and next to zero attention required. Just fire WE Iris' S2 on start and somewhere in the middle and do whatever. Its not, the original owner of the discord was actually some fuck that made the discord because he wanted to own it or something because he started 2~3 weeks into release. Pretty sure he even quit and passed leadership to someone else too but that reddit is comparable to the current shironeko one in terms of how awful and dead it is.
The only reason anyone would ever use it is for the translated news, for everything else its actually quite awful and you'd want to find more dedicated servers for your gameplay related things like the discord servers of esports guilds or servers dedicated to PVP discussion.

Obviously they function a little differently with their skills and what-not, but here's a comparison at 5*, level 115, rank 11 max gear, max skill level, max affection, and, in the original's case, maxed out Blossom Wish.

I'll chip in with some helpful information since you seem to have put in effort in this and want to contribute too.

New years Yui has a barrier of around 5k~ damage block for both physical/magical, this means no damage wiill get past it and you're immune to status effects WHILE the barrier is active. If the barrier is broken then you can get statused as normal but this is more than enough for stuff like Io's charm or the silence on the demon boss from last guild wars.

On the heals, New years Yui heals for 1082~ per tick while regular yui is one burst heal of 11k~. In the end, the amount healed and the time spent to get the heal up should be the same since they use the same items but it depends if you need a burst heal or a regen+barrier.

Veredict seems to be that NY Yui is good but kind of niche. She cuts her magic attack by 90% to buff her allies magic attack, provides a damage barrier to her allies and a regen over time so the consensus i've seen so far is that you won't regret rolling her but you probably won't regret not rolling her either, depends on how good her barrier ends up being for future content in terms of PVE. In terms of PVP, she's just another stall piece.

I played it ever since the Kizuna AI collab, I personally find the girls cute and it's pretty low maintenance. They have started to add orders you can give the girls not too long ago but yeah there isn't to much playing. I kind of like the game you play to get skills for your cards though. Sometimes the 3 star ones are way too tough though so usually just rely on sister schools to get them for me. (I wish you could tell which sister schools had skills waiting for you though)

It's definitely meant more as a management role type of playing. Setting up the baseball roster and such. For some reason the Gacha is very kind to me even though the SSR rate is 3%. I've had double SSR pulls twice. Right now I am sitting at 45 natural SSRs collected.

Its not, you've been hanging around too much in /kcg/ and eating up their lies. /kcg/ people seem to have an inherent hatred for the game considering how the game is usually always brought up over there as an excuse to shitpost but the game is actually pretty fun and casual.

First of all, you actually control your ships so there's no RNG frustration like in KC. You can passively or actively level your ships which helps a lot if you're a lazy shit like me that doesn't like grinding a lot.Actively most likely means that you as a newbie would be ramming your head into 3-4 constantly hoping for Akagi/Kaga and leveling your ships while doing so and passively means you'd just leave 6 ships on the 12 hour expedition twice a day. Obviously, leveling them passively like this is a lot less efficient than doing it the regular way but if you can't be fucked then its better than nothing at least.

Resources are simplified, you don't have four resources but only have Gold and Fuel now. Fuel is obviously what you consume in sorties and Gold gets consumed in various things like buying things from shop, crafting and other stuff. You generate gold/fuel passively from your canteen and its actually extremely hard to run out of fuel in the end game because you'll have a pretty high oil cap, pretty big oil regen and the oil maintenance packs they send on every maintenance that stack up and you'll eventually have 20 oil mails in your box that don't expire while you wonder if its even possible to use them all at this point. Ships are automatically fully healed at the end of a battle too, there's no need to stock on buckets or worry about your ship getting too damaged to continue because the resources and mechanics were simplified to make the game a lot more casual.

For collecting or getting the ships themselves, the drop rates and the map farming feels infinitely more casual and less offensively frustrating than Kancolle in the way you can actually get a drop in your lifetime instead of spend two weeks of resources without ever seeing a drop while your friend got it in his clearing run easily. Event shops usually have the event drop in there for X amount of points too so you can just grab it from there if you couldn't grind or craft it. What IS bad from collecting the ships is that limited collab ships don't come back and (currently) its possible to permanently miss out on them but other event ships come back as event reruns or get added back into the crafting pool after a long amount of time like with KC event ships.

The only part where you'd spend money is in dormitory slots, skins and more shipyard slots but you get a pretty healthy amount of gems as a F2P so you can decide to spend them however you wish. I probably should have spent more on slots but I personally bought 2 skins and some rings and I'm pretty satisfied with this decision so there's no divide between paying players and free players.

PVP is an absolute joke, even if you're maxed out, what you'd get at most from keeping up with PVP meta is 1-2 more gold bullins a month so you can just forget it exists, play the game like a singleplayer game and not have it impact you badly so again, there's no free player divide in here.

The one bad thing i'll say about AL is that there's little coordination about the girl's arts. A carrier can be a loli or a tittymonster depending on the artist, for example. Kancolle may have no gameplay but at least it's mostly consistent.

Money will buy you costumes which are entirely optional and, after the firing animation change half a year ago, they hold no impact other than pleasing you and your penis. If they wanted to they could have easily jacked the prices up, fucked with "gacha" rates etc. but they didn't.

You got your prized CV(B) collection - mostly all titty monsters with minor exceptions like Taihou or Zuikaku. At least in AL you have choice so you can have a fully married fleet of lolis if you want or a full team of titty monsters if you want, the choice is entirely yours.

This is the really sad part and the thing to complain about. There's nowhere to talk about it. The general on /vg/ went to the absolute shitter after EN release with 99% of the posts being shitposts about the EN version and the other 1% being the few players still playing JP over there that can't bring themselves to leave the thread behind.
Even the wiki for the game decided to cater to the EN people and now the EN events are at the top of the wiki with the CN/JP stuff being shoved at the bottom. I'm not sure if it's actually bait this year. Vicious in particular seems incredible this time around despite sites rating him somewhat low so far. His damage output is absurd with the Skull Magna and the black hole on his S2 has a lot of versatility that should make him very good at hell quests and killing bosses. Chaguma Aisha is easier to use but I think Vicious might be the better character for difficult quests since it's so easy to dodge attacks as an xsaber.

Motifs aren't out till 4th too. Although I'm not sure if that's saying much with ingot weapons now. I guess the weapons being good makes sense since you don't want them to be shit with how annoying they're to get, but I still don't like how often they assume you'll just get them without a second thought to make your characters good. Especially when they're rather quick to push out the new sets. I didn't have a problem getting them when I wanted yet myself, but I imagine it must be really shitty for newbies.
