Finished doshikuro after reading it on and off for a few weeks, didn't know what I was getting into at first but I read some nice things about it here a few years ago. Left me feeling pretty satisfied at the end. Took me some time to get used to it and to take it seriously, but by the end of the true route I was pretty invested in the characters and scenario. Although the writing and overall story isn't anything to be impressed by, and the game definitely suffers from some issues, the "sincerity" in the thought put into the characters/setting/drama and how it utilizes the multiple/true route structure was very refreshing and pleasantly surprising for what I initially thought was going to be a moege.
The game's H scenes, which there are quite a lot of, also introduced me to several new fetishes(hair), so I guess that's a plus.

I've got too many slow as fuck members in my party, although that one armor with the +10 to speed really helped. I'm also a bit bummed how good Rosa's weapons have become in chapter 5, they are better than almost everything I've found except a few SR weapons.

And yet, even if you go through it, there's absolutely zero consequences aside from losing a party member. I was pretty disappointed in Gracesta to be honest, for all the reasons that have been mentioned already. Fleurty was showcased as a major antagonist in the OP, or even a major character and she really wasn't. There's shit all over the place that screams terrible Q&A. The main story is only slightly better than Amayui's and the main character is just as much a crap basket. Give me a game about just Fleurty, Excel, Zaur, Roslaind, and Micri. Yes? Then make it a core part of your game and not just side stories and short bad ends. It feels like Eushully is too scared to go out of their way and change, so they stay and do the same formula over and over again but this time it's a gameplay hybrid of popular older title X!

What they did with Kamidori was the right approach and would've worked great with Gracesta. More than one route so you at least have some choice instead of being railroaded into Lilica (Fleurty is an obvious second at the very least), and then force certain side characters/side quests to become mandatory for that so you can then work those characters into the main plot for it. Even just making some characters mandatory recruits so every single main event isn't just Judar and Lilica would help so much on the story side.

I don't know where to start on the gameplay side though. I want to say that it needed at least another few weeks of QA, but so many of its problems were obvious just from the trial, so they couldn't have been unknown unless they did no QA at all (which I wouldn't be surprised), they simply decided to release it in that state anyway.

Eh sankai's problem wasn't exactly the immoral stuff, in fact those were a plus. But its more related to having so many playable MCs that they couldn't utilize each and every one of them, so they thought to themselves 'why even bother with the story?' and that didn't go so well.

That and having copy pasted madou's gameplay(big mistake), without improving anything too, in fact now the game was missing town building, elemental chart and much more.
There's a function in Madou where after you finish the main you can play as other countries, it felt as though they just cut out that feature and made it into a game which is Sankai.

Well. It's almost 2019. Eroge are only about t@a, everything else isn't worth paying attention to anymore. I'd like to think a lot of this is just devs misunderstanding shit, but there's some truth to it. T&A sells the easiest and it's easy to advertise with. And if there's been one kind of development that happened, then it was going towards getting as easy as possible. Charage were telling character based stories with the romance simply being a part of it, sometimes even just a fairly small part. They almost died out. Moege "evolved" from them, where they basically reduced the story to a small part towards the end (often awful) and have everything else be nothing. As "nothing" is easy to write. If you have nothing you write, you don't need to worry about multiple writers, coordination and so on. It's nothing anyway. Fast and easy. Like your burgers.

Obviously, if you want more than a shitty burger, that's a very shitty development. But as long as people eat it up, can you blame them? It's easy for them. Why take risks. It's why I like to simply play games by devs who don't act as if they do something else. Astronauts for example. Their games have a lot of porn, but still tend to feel more genuine than what most other companies shit out nowadays. I even had more fun with Adebana, then with many "recently" released moege. If you are going to be about sex sex sex anyway, may as well add a sex demon and whatnot, right? Right. At least if you ask me. Sure, she isn't a virgin, but guess what? I think the only problem with becoming "gaijin-friendly" is the fact that they are making things all ages (although admittedly it's not a huge thing for me because most H-scenes don't have any effort put into them and are just copy-pasted). But even that's changing with Steam now allowing adult content. Japan is fully aware of the appeal of their products so they have very little to change. It isn't every title, but it feels like Eushully goes to either one extreme or the other. Like if they do include an evil route its basically like Sankai where there are too many routes/protags so there's no good development and/or plot sucks. Otherwise they pull this try-to-be-dark-but-have-saccharine-main-heroine that we got in amayui and grasesta, and probably more eushully I havne't played. Yeah, the plot is more focused and there's more development for characters, but the games are so linear there's almost no point in doing NG+.

The gameplay in KM is almost non-existent. In Kakumei they made it a bit more in depth compared to the other games but that doesn't mean anything it's still braindead simple. If the battles weren't also short that would be annoying but they only take a couple of minutes.

I'm kinda torn there. To me, if they add gameplay, it should lead to something. Why else do you have it in a VN? So if you can skip it with an option and not miss much at all, what's the point?
A good example of very minor gameplay that adds something is Inganock. It's just minor puzzles, essentially, which a walkthrough can solve for you if you want to. Doing well there basically gives a bunch of background information about all kinda stuff. It's a gimmick, but like this it doesn't feel so weird to have this random information "dumped" at you, as you kinda.. unlock it one by one? Something like that. And if you don't care, you only need to get the "main" scenes, that are required.

The games have gameplay because they are RotTK IP games and so at least attempting to do something is expected, I mean even the name is a clear riff on Dynasty Warriors. To their credit the gameplay has improved since the original even if it's still super easy and simple, and now in Kakumei everyone (except MC) can be a general and they all have their own little unique skillsets and battle voice lines, and people cut in for some dialogue mid battle.

I can see it being more immersive to actually do the minigame to beat Wei at Chibi instead of a line of 'and then our army won' but honestly if you did decide to skip you wouldn't be missing anything. There's no bonus for doing exceptionally well, anything really important that happens mid battle will cut into VN style for it, and if you have even a passing knowledge of RotTK none of the battles will have any surprises.
