Read. Discuss.

I know a good deal of this is quite true - what I want to know is, how much of it is exaggeration or plain BS?

Apologies if similar threads are created often - actually I think this is my first post on /jp/.

Well apologies if you think I shouldn't have posted here, but that article has a lot to do with Japanese culture in general - not just the "traveling" aspect. I think it'd be pretty fair game to discuss this on either board, no?

fuck you zun.
i didn't even read the first post, but your constant reporting makes me rage

If you had lurked for five seconds before you posted you would have realized that we're not interested in anything outside of Akihabara.

It's generally accepted that this board is not for Japanese culture or language. It's for Japanese things that no other board likes such as games (Touhou, visual novels), light novels, figurines and such.

Most of us here don't care about or even like the country itself, we only like their stuff.

Age to piss off ZUN

>> No.2028327

I think not only it's exaggerated, it's also written out of supremacy complex, in other words, by an American.

Isn't false reporting a bannable offense? No matter what the consensus of the users is, the rules say differently.

>> No.2028350

>>2028322

Well then, no offense intended, but...

Why call the board "Japan/General?" Seems like there's plenty of room elsewhere for the stuff you just elaborated on (I've seen light novels and visual novels discussed on /a/)...a whole board for figurine and Touhou discussion seems a bit much. Wouldn't a "culture board," if you want to call it that, appeal to a larger base?

Bah, I don't know why I'm rambling about this. It is what it is.

i just checked the rules.
you sir are correct.

Yes, I thought so as well...it seems well-intentioned but at the same time it's actually quite extreme in its criticism of Japan (or Eastern philosophy in general - despite the disclaimer at the top).

I'm pretty sure posting that image doesn't mean he actually reported the thread

which makes

an abuse of report over needless things

I haven't. Must have missed that with all the "random trolling xd" threads

It's fine to talk about the culture here, but the elitists are going to troll you for it

Posting about Japanese culture isn't against the rules, and you're welcome to do so.
It's just that you aren't likely to find many others interested in your thread. As for me, I just hide such threads.

do you have a better way of knowing if someone has reported a thread/post?
it seems perfectly logical to assume someone has reported a thread if they say that they have

Well, /a/ has its moments. The trolls and spammers tend to come in waves rather than in a constant shitstorm (see: /b/, /r/, /v/, /r9k/, /d/) - it makes things a bit more livable.

uhh... there is an option not to report you know, this is exactly why I said you are needlessly reporting someone. If you can't tell, then why report?
you are actually going to report for every lolIreportyou!!! trolling?

After reading it... it's about damn close to 100%. And yet I'm moving to Japan later this year.

But of course /jp/ has no idea about it, since it isn't a faq about touhou.
