Could someone tell me why he calls that... thing a sword? It's much more like a gun. Hell, it dosn't have a blade, he only uses it (far as I know) to shoot things, and when he DOES slash shit, he pulls Random Mythic Weapon No. 3454 from his Vault.

I mean, Caliburn/Excalibur makes sense, it's an actual sword. Gaebolg is a lance.

SO WHY THE FUCK DO THEY CALL A COUNTER-SPINNING GREATMACE A SWORD?!

Not that I dislike Fate Stay/Night at all. I really do like Gil, it's just... one of those things. It bugs me.

I think Ea would count more as a short lance than a tubular mace, if we outright rule-out it being a sword.

Archers are annoying to classify: for Gil, he's got a lance-like weapon (Lancer), he "throws" projectiles (Archer), he fights with swords (Saber), though he casts no spells he needs a ridiculous amount of mana (Caster), and he has the ability to cause damage that would rival anyone else (his anti-reality attack; Berserker).

Its because its not a normal sword, mongrel. My blade is far more powerful than these meager weapons you speak of. A sword is that which cuts, that is naturally what my weapon does. Think before you question the king next time, mongrel.
