Im about to start playing the vn, should i watch the anime at all? is it really as bad as people say it is?

>> No.2018261

Do you like Code Geass? Because this is the only analogy I can make:
Imagine Code Geass gets cut down to 12 episodes with the last episode is where the Emperor supposedly shot himself. Never explaining what the Geass is. Oh and c.c.'s favorite food changes from pizza to hamburgers.

>c.c.'s favorite food changes from pizza to hamburgers.

...Did they change Ciel's favorite food for the anime?

He isn't talking about ciel.

Oh please, bro. The Tsukihime anime is much better than that piece of tripe called Code Geass. CG is one of the worst things ever done by Sunrise.

DO NOT WATCH THE ANIME, AT ALL, EVER. THANKYOU.

>> No.2018293

Anyway OP, watch the anime first, and then play the VN. It will make you appreciate the Tsukihime more in the end.

Hi, there isn't a Tsukihime anime.

Please enjoy your VN!

>> No.2018311

I just read a list of the episodes; it's like they took all the bad ends from the game, and compiled them into an anime.

>> No.2018313

>>2018294

No, it'll just confuse him because the mental images of the charecters he's built from watching the anime won't mesh with whats presented in the VN.

OP, avoid the anime version. It's fucking terrible.

>> No.2018321

>>2018311

It's a decent anime. A solid 7/10 one.

Doesn't listen to the naysayers; they're the kiddies from Beast's Lair forums.

That wasn't the point, bro.

Tsukihime VN is shit, anime is horrible

>> No.2018330

>>2018321
Had the VN not existed, and the manga made from the VN, the 'spin-off' that is the anime "Shingetsutan Tsukihime" would not be considered so bad.
But because it's actually supposed to be based on the VN, it's shit. Also because the manga does a heckuva better job on staying close to the VN without just being the VN, and also showing really good art. The ST anime? MAN FACES.

Is it really not that bad? I've always been something of a fan of taking each incarnation as it's own story, so if it's not that terrible as a standalone I probably won't have any issues. But the episode list on wikipedia paints a pretty bad picture...

Is Ciel's favorite food still curry in the anime?

They changed it to spaghetti. There was a doujin that made fun of this.

Also as for Tsukihime adaptations: Manga > Anime

They did WHAT?!

What the fuck, man! That's not even Ciel anymore! Fuck it, I'm not watching this shit.

The manga truly is terrible, as it's aimed more at the shonen fighting audience (a result of Fate's popularity).

I'd have to question (insult) your taste if you like the manga more. The anime contains much more satisfying character building (even though slightly different from the VN though). In the end though, it accomplishes the same exact things as the original game; it was a good adaptation of Arc True.

>> No.2018353

It was good, I don't understand the whole bashing of it and pretending that it never existed. It stays consistent and true to the original source, you don't need to play Tsukihime in order to understand what's going on, the pacing is great and the anime isn't as emo as the game. The only complain I can find is that the art design isn't really all that great. People will tell you that the characters look like man and in some cases they're right. Overall, it's worth checking out.

Well, at least they did the 'who did you dream of' scene in the manga.
And who do you even think the VN was aimed at? Teenage girls? I think not.
It was aimed at teenage to middle age men, who are interested in action and sex.

...and the manga delivers such. Including 'bonding' moments such as the first mentioned item in this post.

>> No.2018355

>>2018349

Compared to the manga? Yes.

The characters are terrible in the manga.

How about some examples, then?

The Nero battle in a nutshell:

Nero: Well if it isn't the Princess of the True Ancestors.

Arc: You die now!

Nero: Haha! I have you wrapped in snakes!

Shiki: lol i stab u!

Nero: Oh no, I'm dead! ;_;

The end.

The anime did downtone Roa's actual ability. Empty park is empty.

>> No.2018376

>>2018246

It's not too bad in my opinion, given that they had to cover an relatively expansive storyline in just 12 episodes. The character designs are a bit on the dull side, but it does fit well with the somewhat darker art style - and the music especially so.

The fightan is somewhat lackluster, though the scene where Arc is 17-parted is pretty neat (the non-censored version at least).

>> No.2018378

The manga becomes more about fighting and is getting more shounen as things go on, which kinda sucks.

The anime is boring as hell.

>> No.2018385

>>2018376
...But why would they get rid of curry? Not to mention almost everything that makes Nero Nero.
