The more VN's i play. The more i realize how overrated TM games are.
Does enyone feel the same?

>> No.2005585

Non T-M games don't have Ciel, so no. I have no idea what you mean.

>> No.2005593

I can never tell if Nasu is shit or the translations are shit.

>> No.2005599

I wouldn't know because I only play Type-Moon games

>> No.2005600

Is she gonna jump through that hoop?

A bit of both.

>>2005565

Okay.

>> No.2005618

Your power level is growing, OP.

Yes, TM is low level stuff.

>> No.2005633

Yeah, tm sucks, but some of my favorite characters ever came from their shit, so I can't write them off completely.

>> No.2005651

I don't feel the same. They are still very good games, even if they aren't the best.

>> No.2005653

I still love Tsukihime, and I still find Fate/stay Night mediocre.
And I don't think it will change.

>> No.2005667

I never especially enjoyed Type-Moon, they always seemed bland to me. However, I love the characters.

>> No.2005686

Playing other VNs did show me that there are better games out there than Tsukihime and F/sn.

...However, it also showed me that there are much worse games. A lot of them. Oh god.

mii~

TM is entry-level stuff. And, as most people's first, they'll always keep a special place in our hearts.
They aren't 'good' or 'bad' they're just on a different level.

Of course, this only applies if you lost virginity with Type Moon

Well I do think FSN is overrated, but tsukihime is still very good.
Tsukihime is the first one that many people read for a reason.

>>2005585
I feel like you want me to say this but, Higurashi has Ciel too.

>> No.2005743

I really like TM but I haven't tried any other VNs yet. Can anyone recommend me something to try next? I was thinking of Umineko maybe.

>> No.2005807

>>2005743
You pretty much can't go wrong with umineko.

>> No.2005843

>>2005807

I'll try it then. Thanks!

>> No.2005862

TM VNs aren't overrated as you think, Tsukihime is VERY GOOD.

Actually, I've already played many VNs(KEY, Nitroplus, Navel and stuff) and I disliked Higurashi, but still, I know it's good stuff because experienced people say so and stuff. You can do as you please and call TM stuff as low level, but that's not a fact, just your opinion.

To OP
No. There are better games, though.

>> No.2005988

>>2005565
Type Moon games are very good. There's a reason they are so popular. You never hear about the vast majority of mediocre or bad VNs after all.

>> No.2006099

The problem i have with Type Moon is that their title library is horribly small. Any company that is unable to pull a decent VN/eroge at least once per year is not very good in my book.

>> No.2006124

>>2006099
Well, that's true however, TM's universe is being constantly expanded, we'll have sugoi sugoi this year, which will clarify many things about Tsukihime, just an exemple, anyway.

>> No.2006128

I feel like Nasu's writing may be lost on us. I'm not a native speaker, of course, and I have no plans to learn the language anyway, so that's just as well.

Around here, it is definitely overrated, but they're readily available and have a fairly interesting universe loaded down with rules. Part of the reason they're overrated is the generally small number of translated visual novels we have available, and part of it is the potential fan wank. Fan wank is pretty important - it's why Star Wars and Star Trek have such huge fanbases. Let's not even mention Touhou.

Yes, TYPE-MOON stuff is overrated. And rightfully so. Essentially it's a win/win because as more people discover visual novels with TM stuff as their gateway, hopefully more people will appear that can help translate more games.

There's a few who want it to remain a secret club activity, but you know, fuck those guys.
