Not really. I focus on work for about 8 hours a day. After that, I do my own thing. I guess if you're in crunch time or have a strict deadline that could happen, but that's rare. On the other hand, some days you do less work because there's less to do, but you get paid the same, so it balances out.

Opening up office work within the home just shows Japanese work culture is changing. The U.S has had home office works since the 80s and drasticly uncreated during the late 90s due to computer technology. In many ways it was more efficient too, not just on personal levels for employees but profit for the companies too. No company rental space for satalite brqnches is just one example.

The mold of Japanese business and work life has shifted and this is another indication.

I however do not see this shift as favorable or disfaorqble. I simply see the shift as a growth companies are willing to explore if it benefits them while maintaining "traditional" structure simultaneously. Only timewill tell what happens while watching the financial market within Japan.
