News:
-The August ranking rewards have been distributed. The new equipment are the American made GFCS Mk.37 radar and the 5inch Naval Gun Mk.30 Kai + GFCS Mk.37. The equipment is related to a new shipgirl to be implemented in this coming Fall~Winter. We Fletchercolle soon.
-The Early Fall Event, "Set Sail! Combined Fleet, to the West!" is underway and is scheduled to end on October 5 at 11:00. It is a medium-scale event and the EO will take place in Europe again. The main operation consists of 3 maps; E-1 is "Southwestern Front, Bali Island", E-2 is "Western Front, North of the Malacca Strait", and E-3 is "Western Front, Southwest of Ceylon Island". The Extra Operations have been implemented, with E-4 being "The Winds of Genoa" and E-5 "Sortie at Full Strength! The New Operation Rheinübung".
-Friendly Fleets (NPC) are now available for E-3, E-4, and E-5. E-4 and E-5 received more friendly fleets.
-A new experimental cut-in, Nelson Touch, has been implemented for testing.
-There are five new shipgirls, one of which is Battleship Nelson (E-5 reward) who is voiced by Nomizu Iori and illustrated by Konishi, while escort carrier Shin'you is the main operation reward (E-3) and illustrated by Shibafu. Shin'you comes with a what-if Kai Ni as well. The Swedish seaplane cruiser Gotland is available as a drop in E-4/5 and is illustrated by drew. Yuugumo-class Kishinami is available as a drop from E-2 and E-3. The E-4 reward is Italian Destroyer Maestrale.
-New equipment available as an E-3 reward is the Type 97 Torpedo Bomber (931 Air Group / Skilled) and Ju 87C Kai Ni (w/ KMX Skilled) as E-5 Hard reward.
-Yuugumo-class will get more Kai Ni this year. Hyuuga will receive a Kai Ni this year as well.
-There are already plans for the 7th year of KanColle.
-Numerous Fletchers will be implemented in the 6th year. bob will illustrate Japanese Seaplane Tender Nisshin for the event after the Early Fall Event. Matsu-class from the Type D Destroyers are being prepared for the 7th year of KanColle.
-There are plans for expanding ASW with equipment from the land of black tea like ASDIC and hedgehogs.
-Full implementation of 2nd Sequence may take a year. Each Block will have new features added.

My dragons just refuse to target the boss, and my CAV were always aiming at the wrong stuff, so it took a fucking while to sink her. Even the grinding phase was a chore.

I was really lucky with E5 P2 and sunk her right at LD, but P3 was a complete different beast. Even with the debuff, boss escort just didn't gave a single shit about about CV CI and stuff like that. I always had a full escort alive for night battle, and obviously shit allied fleet to boot. Took me 20 runs in LD. Shit was completely retarded.

You can still sortie without euro ships. For example, my P3 STF deubff fleet is:
Iowa/Yamato/Mogami/Suzuya/Chiyoda/Akitsumaru
Myoukou/Yura/Maya/Naganami/Tashkent/Hibiki
You can replace the euro ships in this fleet with other ships from their equivalent classes and it will still lead to the boss. The only euro constraint that matters the most is in P2 where you will need 4 German+French ships for L->O.

Suijou is generally cheaper when chipping, IF you use 1 LBAS for ASW at T node. You only have to face one normal combat encounter, which your main fleet will engage first, then a relatively harmless Air raid node afterwards. You don't even need to run route support. Unfortunately, this means one less LBAS at the boss, so you'll do less damage to the boss on average.

With kidou, you'll be packing more firepower at the boss due to having 3 LBAS, but in exchange you'll have to go through 2 normal combat nodes which your squishier escort fleet will have to engage first. Route support become a necessity.

I actually did chipping with both types of fleet--3 times with suijou & 4 times with kidou (which also involved 4 retreats with kidou). Afterwards, LD debuff required 6 attempts with suijou but only 1 attempt with kidou.

There are people farming Baux who are still half-way through E5P2.

CV with Red planes will avoid targetting installations (which is why I said the real last boss is having your LBAS kill all the PT Imps; if they don't then your carriers will target them instead of the boss. 13 times in a row I made it to Z2 during chipping. 13 times with zero retreats. Suddenly I'm ready for the last dance debuff and I get turned back 6 times in a row at the T node. Nothing has changed with my fleet or LBAS bombing that node. Why does morale exist. I've spent over an hour just sitting here waiting for my next chance to get sucker punched the moment I start a map I know I can casually cruise through. It's such a backwards mechanic. When you get turned away at the first node, you want to try again. But after a lengthy sortie through the whole map, you sometimes want a break. Yet morale rewards the opposite. Ice cream is a plague.

Z2 S Rank Pudding is 1,38% (1.96% for Goat)
J S Rank Pudding is 1.13% (1.6% for Goat)
Considering my buckets I may farm J, 0.2% less may be worth it if I can sortie more often, I'm a lucklet anyway.
For CTF I used Ark, Sara, ZKK, SKK, Riche, Bisko + Jintsuu (Night Recon), Tashkent (Flare, Searchlight), Fubuki (AACI), Ayanami, Yukikaze, Jervis. Last 3 DDs were TCI. For LD I switched out Bisko and Riche for Warspite and Musashi.
For STF I used Bisko, Riche, Chiyoda, Maya, Suzuya, Tone + Abukuma, Yukikaze, Jervis, Tashkent, Choukai, Myoukou.
I guess it can be even more optimized but I couldn't be fucked since it's just medium. Farming with STF will probably result in a way lower chance at getting consistent S ranks, but CTF may give more preboss taihas. That's why I'm more leaning towards J, Goat and Pudding are the only ships I need.

Well If it weren't for the Barracuda he wouldn't be exactly wrong. Firefly was considered adequate more than anything. It's main reason for existing is probably as a Night fighter than anything else. Albacore was considered worse than the Swordfish despite it's paper specs. As for later Seafires, it's up to Tanaka since like the Bearcat they didn't see action. Griffon engine ones had a lot of teething issues that weren't fixed until postwar.
Even the Barracuda had it's detractors but in the end it seems that much like the B-26 it was a training thing more than anything else. It flew differently than many of the British carrier bombers before it.
