Who's the strongest touhou? i was just wondering since in Blue sinners Yukari is portrayed as the strongest a long with the half oni drunkard and that one other lady. From what I understand the other cast members are fodder (eg Cirno and Marisa), Reimu is just a fledgling and the Scarlets are High mid tier.

Last time we had this thread, I believe most of /jp/ thought it was Yukari. Boundary manipulation is likely so powerful an ability that her potential for growth is far greater than any of the other Touhou, plus she's already approximately on par with the likes of Flandre/Suwako/Koishi/Suika and is the one (or is it hinted to be the one?) who separated Gensokyo from the rest of the world. Think of the possibilities. Forget Border of Life and Death, how about Boundary of Time and Space?

Err, where did you figure that out. It's not explicitly stated nor hinted in SSiB yet.

>> No.1986939

You people are assuming that each touhou has unlimited force in their given ability. If this were the case, Rumia would be able to turn herself into a black hole and immediately destroy Gensokyo.

Touhous have areas of specialization, but are rarely strong enough to cause lasting, powerful changes. It took ALL of the dragons to seal off Gensokyo, and even Yukari would need a lot of time even to weather it down to the point the dragons would notice and come back to stop her. These girls are not so powerful as to be able to significantly alter the fabric of reality for any extended period of time, and by the time they were powerful enough they would hardly need to.

If she were to fly high enough and into the correct position, she could act like the moon in a solar eclipse. Also, if someone has done too much evil during their lifetime, they may even not be able to cross the river.

A shinigami judges one to be good or bad not by the amount of crimes, but by money. That is to say, not the money that the deceased may have had while they were alive, but rather the total amount of those who yearned and missed that person from the bottom of their hearts."

So you make "her mood" improve with your virtue.

Touhou follows the kind of logic you find it old stories and legends; when you can STEAL THE ESSENCE OF A ENTIRE SEASON or REPLACE THE MOON WITH A FAKE logic and reason are thrown out of the window.

Power levels are irrelevant. The strongest Touhou depends on motivation and situation. Powers are as strong as they need to, Yukari has been described as being able manipulate the fictional as well as factual. How do you begin to measure that kind of open definition of her abilities? Suika's manipulation of density is used to draw people together, or turn herself into mist. It doesn't even follow logic of what density control could do, it works because like in a story, it SOUNDS like it could work.

That's Touhou, that's Gensokyo and I wouldn't have it any other way.
