Explain to me, /jp/. Why is Touhou so popular? I mean, I love Cirno even though I haven`t played any Touhou game, and I also like most of Touhou cast (NO-PADS ftw), but what`s so special about the series themselves? From what I know, Touhou is just a series of shootan gaems, a fightan gaem and shitload of doujin on Gensokyo. Or should I just STFU and download Touhou games so that I see how awesome they are?

When you're hungover. It's goddamn bliss to play IN with Raymoo in EASY MODO. Just, you know look at the pretty colours and listen to the music. Saved my mornings more than once, tell you what.

I've never played Touhou and have been looking at trying it, but what game should I start with?
According to Wikipedia, Perfect Cherry Blossom seems to be the first notable one with Mountain of Faith being the most recent.

Also, I love the song Taboo Tears You Up, which is as I understand it a remix of a Touhou song, what game is that in?
