I don't get why people shits on Violet Detector when it gave us different ways to play.
>normal shot for a standard touhou gamplay
>camera shoot for a StB/DS type of gameplay
>Abilities like the auto camera or teleport that emulate the items in ISC
And you can (or can not if you chose) use whatever you want whenever you want.
It's a pretty solid game for a spin-off.

Lots of recicled spell cards, uninspired and repetitive during the double battles, sure it's not the first time a spin-off game takes already existing spellcards and adds a little variation, but this time it feels like ZUN wasn't even trying to come out with something new and just took a look at the simplest patterns for characters before DDC, Eternity is probably the worst of all, from all the spellcads she owns all but one is the same patterns with a slightly change

Controls are shit and the score system is kind of meh

I hear a number of people complaining about this, and while it is annoying that it doesn't work the same way as in the previous games, and is inconsistent with player expectation and is therefore bad, it really didn't take that long for me to adjust to this, especially when you don't have to charge the whole way to 100%, and I can't even recall a scene where that kind of movement was that helpful, unlike what I would say about DS.
