No, I'm pretty fat. 5'10 230lbs. It's too easy to eat while on the computer. The funny thing is I'm vegetarian, and I am still fat.

Yen is reasonably stable because Japan traditionally has always had low interest rates which encourages a lot of investors to borrow money from Japan as opposed to other countries.

I fucking hate this recession, I have a bunch of preorders with HLJ that are going to cost me about 1.5x more than I expected at the time when I made them. Anyone with a clue about exchange rates and shit want to chance a guess at when it will improve?

Not anytime soon. It takes time for markets to rebound.

When people finish paying off the loans they got from Japanese banks in the 90s.

IIRC, During Japan's last recession, that country's central bank dropped interest rates to close to zero, making it an extremely attractive place for businesses to get loans. Because of the credit crunch, many businesses with the ability to do so are trying to pay those loans back to shed as much debt as possible. The influx of money into the country strengthens the currency.

Not an economics major, though.

>> No.1968218

>>1968215
They dropped them to -1 point, iirc.
That's right people, saving money actually COST you money in japan.
And since it was the whole economy that was fucked up thanks to the big companies, those low interest rates didn't really help that lost decade thing.

Pretty soon. Japanese exports fell 35% in december, that's 20% percentage points more than the next loser in Asia, Singapore, and 31% percentage points more than China.

Japanese exports are the locomotive pulling their economy upwards, when it goes badly, the yen will be hurt too, because Japan has an export driven economy.

Chances are you'll see a considerably lower yen in the next months.

If we were to translate these into bust measurements it would mean that Yen-chan wouldn't be the loli amongst the two.

I love how in some anime and manga they say 1,000,000 yen is a lot of money, which totally baffles me. Isn't a million yen something like 11k? That's not a lot of money. Shit I make more than that in two months.
