Never read one. I've wanted to read the Spice and Wolf novels for a while but they aren't available in English yet. I'll probably have reached a decent enough reading level in Japanese before they're actually released over here.

I've only read the Haruhi one. It was pretty good, so I guess it's my favorite.

TORADORA!

>> No.1961352

Wow /jp/ sucks for light novel readers. The Boogiepop, Crest of the Stars and Kino no Tabi (at least the volume that's actually been released) books are probably right at the top of the list as they all have great stories and draw you in throughout. The Welcome to the NHK novel and the two .Hack//AI Buster books are right behind them in terms of quality and should definitely be checked out also.

>> No.1961359

That's because light novels are /a/ related, moot agreed.

It's because they are trolling trying to make people "rage" by talking about series that are talking about in /a/ a lot but have light novels.

Light novels are /a/ material.

However, if you insist. I will post nothing but Toradora and Haruhi.

And you'll like it.

>> No.1961394

I remember a thread regarding this a few weeks back and pretty much everyone agreed that light novels shouldn't have a problem here as long as they weren't the obvious anime-popular ones such as haruhi, toradora and zero no tsukaima.

>> No.1961396

>>1961394

It doesn't matter, moot agreed.

>> No.1961405

/jp/ seems to pretty much cover any non-mainstream (anime/manga) otaku hobbies (touhou, visual novels, idols), so why shouldn't we be able to talk about light novels here?

The Haruhi series. I haven't read too many light novels because I can't read Japanese. I mostly just check out what's on baka-tsuki. I've been waiting for more of Fate/Zero, Kara no Kyoukai, and Spice and Wolf to be translated before I start reading them. Unfortunately the last two have been licensed so baka-tsuki won't be translating them anymore. I also plan on reading Welcome to the NHK when I can find it online.
