In this respect, I honestly believe you have the right idea in keeping your peace, because at least in your case, you aren't presenting a false and hypocritical facade.

I'd like to think that's true. I'm probably capable of putting on a facade like that, and I can do it to try to get in good with people who I think can get me job opportunities and things like that, but it's too much damn work and hardly worth it most of the time. Having a few true friends is better than having a million "friends" of the other type anyway, isn't it?
