You know, in theory, hearing secondary speculation from people who are experiencing FSN for the first time with the anime SHOULD be interesting. But why the fuck are they always so confident in their opinions, despite clearly not understanding some very basic shit about the story? Like, I don't blame them for not having knowledge from the VN, but they often forget a ton of stuff from the incomplete adaptations that they HAVE watched.
Fuck, whoever posted about secondaries last thread re-lit my hate a little bit.

It depends on the composer really. But when I said "same treatment" I was talking about getting a high quality anime adaptation in general.
Though Kajiura can do fantastic atmospheric music, I am a bit tired of her style. But I still wouldn't have picked someone else for HF.

It could be fun if you're in it for big dumb Servant fights. It doesn't really have much interesting unique lore, whatever bits were in the novel were mostly cut in the anime.
It does have some remarkable sakuga, but visually the designs and color pallette look like shit 99% of the time.

Just try it out, like any anime it's better to watch an episode or two instead of asking for opinions.

No, the problem is you. The pretentious fuck who thinks TM is anything more than power level faggotry and waifu faggotry. This was the core of Fate, more important than even the characters. Case in point, there was never any character development WITHOUT powerlevels. Shirou fights Archer, it's all powerlevels. The character conflict is in the background. The fight ends with Shirou remaining steadfast in his beliefs, but becoming STRONGER, gaining Archer's experience. That was the REAL point of the fight. To make Shirou stronger, to raise his power level. The character conflict was just the garnish on top.

That fight, it's followed by the conflict with Gilgamesh. Where he accepts he's a fake, his ideals are borrowed, but even so, he won't waver. But that is just the backdrop. She gets to be more celebrated than Archer or Shirou.

This is the reason why Fate/Extra's protagonist was a failure. Hakuno, he doesn't fight. He lacks power level. Thus, EVERYONE universally hates him. But his female counterpart has tits and vagina, she's super popular. In Type-Moon, you either have become strong, or get tits, otherwise you're useless.

Your analogy makes no sense. Melty Blood was never seen as, or treated as, the core of Type-Moon. It never received some special treatment or made millions of dollars, it never prevented works from other franchises to come out, it never fully grabbed Nasu's attention and gave him an excuse to stop writing his own full works, it never attracted a whole different audience that only cared about Servants and caused every single Type-Moon work to cater to them, it didn't finalize the decline of Nasu's works from interesting protagonists, to bland self-inserts all the time.

Melty Blood is exactly what FGO SHOULD have been, ideally. A good spin-off that people who are into that genre would love, that provides some cool new lore and characters. Not something that revolutionizes the entire fucking franchise and monopolizes Type-Moon as whole, for years.

To summarize my reply, my issue with FGO isn't just having cool lore locked in a medium I dislike, that would've been good if it were the spin-off it should've been.
My main issue is with the entire massive impact it had on Type-Moon as a whole and all of their future works, despite being the opposite of what made TM appealing in the first place. Melty Blood never even came close to doing that or tried to do that. TM wants you to be fine with FGO as a "major project" despite it being lower effort and less focused than most of their previous works, because there are still parts of it that are "not so bad", so you'll be okay with TM going in a much shitter direction that they have potential for, and people won't demand actual VNs, or actual good games, or actual non-Fate works. The number of people who care about that is getting lower and lower as Fate becomes a mobage franchise.

Anybody else not really digging the direction Fate has gone to?
the VN was great,F/Z was enjoyable,even some games like Fate/Extra and Unlimited Codes were good.

Nowadays you got Apocrypha and its adaptation which are just mediocre wastes of a potentially good setting,FGO which turned sort of acceptable for a mobage during the Camelot-Babylon chapters but then went full retard while also being the new,annoying face of the franchise.

And while the whole mooncell setting Extra had going for it was already getting a bit tiring in CCC and it still ended up being an interesting sequel,it just feels overdone with the musou,its sequel,and now Last Encore.
The only thing I don't mind are the ufotable adaptations of UBW and HF,although we'll have to see how they handle the latter with the last days of the route being packed with iconic scenes.

What's next for the franchise,a FGO anime?
maybe Fate/Strange Fake getting adapted?
I pretty much know nothing about it so I don't even know if it would be good.

I agree that ufotable are the only ones doing something good with the franchise, by adapting old material from when TM was good. I also look forward to the last Case Files volume.
For anime, I think Strange Fake is quite likely to get adapted since that's been heavily requested, but they might wait years until the novels are done. Prototype Fragments may also get adapted by A-1 Pictures or something.
I don't think there will be a FGO anime, just new year's specials. If there is one, I hope it's really shit like those specials, shit eating fans would buy it anyway.

Nasu buried any hopes of a proper Extra/CCC adaptation with LE. If Narita ever finishes F/SF then sure, if Aniplex really wanted to adapt it they could make F/SF S1 with the first 4 volumes. Considering how hot F/SF was at Animejapan this year it wouldn't be a bad move. Realistically I can see a Case Files anime in the near future since it's ending soon, I'm not sure about Fragments since I don't read it and I refuse to read Labyrinth despite owning a copy. I would really like a Koha-Ace anime though.

Camelot has that. The people in Lostbelt aren't just there to fill the world with interesting NPCs, but for all the added tragedy at the end. That's what this whole thing was about, I never said having NPCs is a bad thing, it's much better than a shitty Servantfest, but the way they're used really speaks to how the nature of the game hasn't changed at all. They just realized "fuck, we can't deliver those cheap sad moments with Servants, because no one gives a fuck when a Servant dies anymore since they're re-summoned and recall their memories whenever convenient. I disagree with Lostbelt 1. Patsy was very different from Roman and his death didn't feel like his at all. The circumstances mixed with his anger and mixed feelings, plus his disgust for his own world. There was also development beforehand which justifies it. I mean he wanted to go for the kill too, but changed his mind. It definitely felt less forced than the obvious kid-emotional-bait angle. When you see Patsy in the trailer, he's howling and fighting, not doing generic poses of pure good children. Patsy was flawed character too which makes him good. The kids feel more of an obvious cheap plot device to make people sad. Like Alice of Extra or Isemi of Prototype/Fragments.

I think Nasu and some writers feel like recreating the loss of Roman with gachabait instead. But the problem with those is they are already steady servants so there's real no sense of suspense and feels like cheap theatrics. If you're going to make a character return, wait some time to make the loss feel legitimate at least.

As for Marisbilly, I don't think so? He's imore likely going to be the final boss with a one wing angel transformation as Beast VII as he ascends to godhood. The flags of villain and final boss are too many to dodge. He'll be sympathetic and have some reason, but that's gonna be his role.

We've gotten plenty of that throughout FGO, Roa in a drama CD, Zepia references, Primate Murder, etc. But even if Sion or other Tsukihime characters directly appear next chapter, at its core it's still a shitty mobage about Servants with its self-insert MC. It's just another tactic they've used to get oldfags to approve of FGO, "it has lore tie-ins to other Nasu stuff, so it's good".
