I'm at the end of Higurashi and I'm having issues with the part where you have to arrange the pieces together. The When They Cry wiki says that there is only one prerequisite to unlocking "C103 dose experiment", but in-game it says I need both Satoko's detailed test results and Irie's decision. I already unlocked "Suffering of a big brother" which also requires Satoko's test results, which means I haven't gotten Irie's deicison yet. I've clicked through every memory multiple times and I'm getting really frustrated by this since I was hoping I could finish it today.

Generally writters love writing the ending and the intro first then work from there. Thats usually the best way to do it. That way you know where you're headed and can use foreshadowing much better. That isn't to say write chapters in their entirety in reverse order, but to thoroughly plan things going backwards and then write in detail going forward.

To be honest you are the only one. In fighting games, moves are usually easily discussed by using numpad for directions, like saying hadouken is 236.

Also for it being a hard move, I say it's difficult because I am a scrub at fighting games and suck pretty hard so I can do it about 40% of the time. It also determines the character you use, like Erika can only be used in the air.

As for the others, I have very little experience in fighting games because I legitimately cannot stand them. Be it Shaq Fu, Soul Calibur 2, or even fucking Smash Bros, I don't like fighting games through they have a lot of sexy girls, and I only got that one because it's apparently relevant to the plot. If it wasn't for its relevance, I would never have bothered with it : I don't like fighting games and since I don't like them, I'm bad at them.

It can take some practice because the game is pretty strict. Go into training mode and turn on directional input to see if you're pulling it off correctly. Also make sure that you're using that super while you're in control of the metaworld, and keep in mind that Erika can only use that super while she's in the air.

i'm enjoying umineko so far but there are some major issues with it. currently on the second episode, questions arc.

firstly, watching them try to deduce why beatrice is there and who she is gets tiresome very quickly. i've skipped over a ton of shit because i already KNOW who she is and why she's in the mansion. they're just regurgitating shit already said in the 1st ep and adding nothing new to what i already understand, it's tiresome.

also the struggle between beato and battler is boring. the whole premise is just that he doesn't believe in her. and she's only doing these fucked up things out of boredom, not a good villainous motive at all.

thirdly most of the characters are very unlikable. right now i only care about maria, shannon, rudolf and beato. it's not like dangan ronpa where i felt sympathy towards someone when they died...i was actually rooting for their deaths at one point jfc such boring characters

anyway i'm still pretty early in on this game so my opinions might change? thanks for reading my blog

What being repetition is actually important to the overall narration. There's much more than meet the eye when it come to fight between Battler and Beato. However boredom is actually good motivation from witch perspective since they goes beyond what human understand and boredom basically could killed them.

While I could see why characters might be unlikeable, Umineko is not the story about likeable human being but rather flawed people which is why is so interesting. However I do believe that you would get to like more of them by the end of story. Also seriously don't skip ANY scene

The other anons make a point, oftentimes the stuff being repeated is done intentionally. However, Ryukishi has a bad habit of repeating himself too often, so it's understandable that it gets frustrating. It makes reading the series more than once a slog at times.

For your second point, you have only read the second episode out of eight. The second episode is basically an introduction to Beatrice as a witch and game master, it's still very early.

Third, that's a fair point but also somewhat intentional. Throughout the story, you see more sides to the characters and one's opinions on them can vary wildly at times. Plenty of people change their opinion on Maria in the 4th episode.

You're indeed very early in the story. I want to say continue giving it a chance, and try not to let the other anons bring you down for being too harsh. Some people are just that passionate about Umineko.

A goat is someone that doesn't think. Umineko really encourages you to try and think, figure out, and understand what you're reading and being shown. It's not easy, and you're not going to get far if you try and zip through all the episodes. The episodes were originally released months apart from each other, which gave people lots of time to think and discuss and read over again and again.
If you're a newcomer, it's okay to be confused. The other posters are just being bitter hags and forgot what it's like to read for the first time because Umineko ended years ago and they already know every little detail.

Episode 3 and 4 are common favorites, that should be where things pick up if you're still not feeling it.

Umineko is not something you can trust. You can't trust the characters. You can't trust the story. It is something that should begin with a huge disclaimer: don't fucking trust it. Start thinking, because there are rules to the game, but they are well hidden you dipshit. And don't trust the blonde.

It can go way over your head. If you don't try to make sense of what is happening, it can easily just appear to be a fantastical farce with witches and magic and shit. Beatrice exists, she's a witch bent on killing everyone, case closed. If you think that, you're losing at Umineko, and Beatrice wins.

Warning: there is still huge pacing issues, namely at the beginning of Episode 2 and the middle of Episode 4. But the game is far more enjoyable when you aren't flailing around trusting everything you're told.

This goes against the very reading of ep 3 and 4. Battler, the character, didn't remember jack in 3 and 4. And yet he was always probed by an external author who wanted him to remember. Someone who knew the truth. Someone who wrote those episodes in the same "style" as nasu (this is said in ep 6). Ikuko is that author.

Ikuko absolutely adores mystery novels. One of the only piece of information we have about Nasu is that she absolute adores mystery novels. Ikuko likes to create witches persona for her, and likes to troll Battler. Who like both of those things? Who is crazy enough to create a persona from thin air to help an amnesiac Battler remembers? Who can't live with her Beatrice persona any more?

Ikuko found the confession of the Golden Witch using magic in the manga. It was a bottle magically summoned by Ikuko which contained the reason for the murders by Yasu. Lots of magic everywhere.

Occam's Razor. Yasu could have died in that boat, and then another rich heiress who likes mysteries and is ridiculously rich and knows everything about the murders could have taken Battler under her mantle to help him remember without asking anything of him, and then proved him for years afterwards, writing novels to help him remember. Also she magically summoned the confessions of Beatrice from thin air. And really like posing as an all knowing witch.

Or Ikuko is, you know, Yasu under yet another identity. The ultimate Beatrice. After the suivide of her Beatrice persona and Battler losing his memories, she decided to help him, protect him, and make him remember. That answers literally all the plot holes of Ikuko's existence.

I guess some of these are fair interpretations given context. I don't buy it though. There's not much I can say in rebuttal that is any different than what I said prior. It's a "twist" that feels in the context of the emotion of this story to be manufactured here in the same way that Rosatrice was. Instead of analyzing something actually sketchy, it feels to me like seeing what you want to see. Instead of feeling the story, it's trying to, like Rosatrice, resolve the story in a tidy way and tie up things that someone thinks doesn't make sense. Of all the things answered when fans got upset about ambiguity, THIS is the one and only thing that remained obfuscated? The tragedy of her end ultimately becomes symbolic transformation and loses its weight.

Regarding the "created Beatrice persona" in the stories, I would again say that this is done based on the first two real Yasu forgeries combined with Battler knowing fragmentarily that he was a cause and a target from both memories and the first two real forgeries.

Lonely rich eccentric girl hits a man on all fours in the road. "Trolling" and "probing" and the like only happens within the tales from Beatrice, who again is based on 1 and 2's Beatrice.
