At least, we might have a better result since they got a better approach with Kai, and the fact there is much less to adapt this time around (3-4 arcs).

Kai was largely better adapted than the first season. Of course, it doesn't mean it was flawless, but it is downright much better in term of adaptation. (Tatarigoroshi, Shion's monologues from meakashi and Tsumihoroboshi were slaughtered BIG time)

All this time when the Battler screams, I can turn his sound down in my head, but what bothered me in Higurashi was Keiichi's repeated screaming over everything in the "comedy" parts. At least I can't imagine Daisuke Ono screaming in Keiichi's high pitched voice.

I wonder how they're going to animate the "red", the red net, the duel in EP3 (where do they place the camera? the watcher should be able to see through Rudolphs plan before he reveals it) and much more. I imagined many way while reading, but DEEN can't pull these of.

If they'll solve the problem of red text and don't abuse the fanservice/gore like they did in Higurashi, this may turn out to be less slaughtered than we expect although not nearly as good as the vn.
Let's see what they so with Higurashi Rei OVAs, if studio DEEN shows some improvement we may feel less worried (although Kai was mediocre as well, cuts everywhere)

It is very hard to conclude if Virgilia was deceiving from the beginning or if the end is another Beato's trickery, or if Virgilia is just mind controlled because of the "revival" issue.

There is a possibility for the later 2 possibilities, as at the very start of episode 3, beato remembers of her teacher, despite it is irrelevant to what's ging on to Battler (and it isn't intended that he can witness such dream).

Virgilia was shown as a good witch, but there isn't much proof from where she turned bad (IF she did).
Episode 4 might answer this question

As things stand, Bern and Lambda are both arrayed against Beato and Battler. Both are manipulating the game board for their amusement, and neither truly seems to have much concern beyond keeping themselves amused. I haven't played EP4 yet, but the title, "Alliance of the Golden Witch" may be alluding to the fact that neither Beato nor Battler has much hope unless they can overcome their 'sponsors'. And that isn't likely unless they work together, without alerting 34 or Bern to their intentions. Beato is doing her best to appear that she's trying to win, but still she threw victory away when Battler was ready to wholeheartedly surrender.

Wouldnt surprise me. That fits with a theory I thought of earlier when Rosa was flashing back to the time she met Beatrice. Beatrice may have survived but has been in a deep coma in a hospital somewhere else. Kinzo's obsession with 'resurrecting' her might not have been quite what it appears. That'd also kind of fit with the true form she doesn't want revealed, and what 34 was threatening her with in the tea party.

That's Battlers victory condition (or rather, proving they were possible without magic). Beato's is 'proving the existance of witches' which makes holding a conversation with someone who died decades before seem a bit... hard to counter. Remember what Ronove said about the red causing a stalemate if misused? That's what I mean by bringing the game to a halt.

Noticed something that seems rather significant reading through the ending. If this has been discussed already apologies in advance but I've missed it... Did anyone else notice that Ronove is Genji's last name? Ronove Genji. Watch the credit roll and see for youself.

Following the line of thinking that leads to I think I can infer quite a bit about the events leading up to the conference on the human side. The original Beatrice probably never even made it to Rokkenjima, when she died, her unborn daughter was probably saved due to the quick actions of Kinzo's personal physician, Nanjo. He couldn't take care of an infant on his own though, so he had her raised by the two servants he trusted most; The mansion's caretaker and Beatrice's personal servant, Ronove Genji, and her nursemaid and teacher, Kumasawa. Nanjo was kept on retainer for Kinzo, as the only other person to know the secret of the island.
