I used to really want a "Type-Moon Wars" with characters from everything, but I now realize that Melty already has a ton of characters by itself. A game with characters from everything would probably end with an unsatisfactory small number from each series (and way too much bloat of Servants from GO trash).
So now I just want Melty with some new Mahoyo guests (and maybe DDD chars or Gun God?). Fate needs its own thing entirely. It's clear that French Bread prefers the dark urban fantasy setting anyway, since they went straight from Melty to UNIEL. Modern sci-fi Fateshit wouldn't them.

They don't just cut down on "unnecessary" things, crucial scenes that are still included are cut down to borderline pointlessness (Zouken's appearance to Shinji, Kotomine eating mapo tofu, every single battle) and only one fight (the one that wasn't in the VN) lasts longer than one minute. What? Early HF's fights were either curbstomps or Shadow cleaning up the board. There is no need to waste excess time on those, granted Lancer vs True Assassin shouldn't have taken up as much time as it did but HF's first movie would have just had nothing 1~2 minute short fights without one decent back and forth which would have been terrible for a movie that isn't even being catered to the VN crowd. Seriously I don't know what the director was thinking adding all the excess original content at the start (a whole 12 minutes) while glancing over some plot points that play into the route later but whatever he adds Nasu had next to nothing to do with it. It will either make it or break it later on.

It's not about a back-and-forth, it's about what the fights say about the characters. They were written to build up the conflict between Saber and Shirou's egos and his struggles with weakness and inexperience, something made in opposition to his progression in Fate and UBW that eventually came to a head in Nine Bullet Revolver and Sparks Liner High. Miura probably storyboarded the fights, which explains why they're so incongruous and flashy, but Sudou is probably to blame for letting the action shrink into nothing. I think if treated appropriately, anyone could have enjoyed fights with some narrative weight, but the only fight that's in the movie for any reason other than a formality is Lancer vs True Assassin.

Anon, the whole concept is retarded. It's always done with intentionally dumb placements to spark arguments, because it's possible to argue that in a 1v1 a character would be better than the other, so pretending like anyone is above everyone bellow them makes no sense.
I did like the idea that there's a huge gap between Servants and most magi, but a lot of Tsukihime characters and DAAs are in that middle gap (crossing into Servant territory). Magi like Lorelei are also low Servant tier.

Literally the worst thing you could grab on to in the Nasuverse. Especially with the constant power creep and GO trash occasionally adding new Servants with ridiculous OP skills that would break everything depending on circunstances.
They've shown that they don't care about consistency in that regard, and I never cared about it in the first place (besides how OP Types are, I loved the idea of overwhelming beings like that attacking the Earth within the Notes setting, it really increased the despair factor).

Anon, Crimson Moon is still TYPE-MOON, and Archetype: Earth is still intended to be the closest thing to a Type for Earth. Well for one, I love how the original doesn't have any "hope for the future" aspect. Saber went back to the past and died, that's the end of her relationship with Shirou, but the time they spent together was able to change her mind. She accepted her mistakes and that she lived a full life, and was able to pass on peacefully, while Shirou would continue living.
I don't mind giving them a happy ending in the afterlife that much, but it should've unlocked after the Fate route, to have it after every other ending makes no sense when it really doesn't encompass the VN as a whole.

Finished Zvezda. Pretty fun and crazy show. Meteo definitely has a knack for memorable girls that don't fit the standard harem archetypes. For once I'm actually interested in Fire Girl and April Witch (especially since the latter is supposed to not be humour focused).
I gotta say the best girl was Roboko, the way they made her so cute while still looking like a machine instead of the usual "looks exactly like a real girl" was great. I'm glad the OVA focused on her.
Overall, I'd rank this above Canaan as far as original TM anime go.

It's probably based on the ROM conversion of the original for GBA. It definitely has h-scenes, so it's probably the exact same as the original. Doesn't work on emulator though.

The English version has been ported to VNDS for ages now. I have a version from 2012 or 2013, even including a 'hi-res pack' for standard 480p on non-DS VNDS platforms, like Android or whatever.
Looks like that guy just packed it up together in a single .nds file for simplicity.

It's good enough, sure. I don't think any release of Tsukihime whatsoever uses more than the standard (O)Nscripter functions, so you're not really going to miss out on anything on any platform.

You could try this. Not sure how well it works, or if it supports higher resolutions like 240p rather than DS's 192p. Can't find a prebuilt .cia, don't feel like installing homebrew channel.
If you don't give a shit about quality or resolution you could use a DS flash cart, the NDS should load just fine. You could also use VNDS interpreter on Android if you have one of those.

I agree that portability helps readability. One of the reasons I got a GPD Win. Straight x86 Windows compatibility on a handheld is great.
