I totally don't understand reasons why somebody deletes works which made him popular.
Even if one doesn't like them, it will not help; nobody will forget attribution of these works.
But everyone who liked it (and there were much people who liked it; from every touhou 'shitpost' videos these were masterpieces) will feel it as disrespect and unreasonably bad attitude to those who liked these works - even if it's creator opinion that these works don't worth displaying.
I really understand that if not Ciryes, no one could ever seen these videos, but instead of being thankful for that at least these work existed, I feel greatly disappointed.

I see a lot of questions about this and I'm tired of it taking up the comments sections on my music so I figure I'd post this and explain why I took my old videos down.

The first, and primary reason is that I don't like the way they continued to make me look by being available. A lot of it was honestly just downright offensive. Pretty much all of them used random homophobic slurs all over the place (yes, that's bad. i strongly think that's bad and not the kind of stuff i want people to see on my channel at ALL). Not to mention some of the concepts were just kinda gross. 'aya takes pictures of people's panties' was dumb and playing on a dumb meme and 'alice gets horny' was a disaster and an insult to the character desu. it gives off the impression that i'm the kind of person who still gets a laugh out of slurs and sex jokes and old old degrading touhou memes, which i'm really, really not.

Sure, the videos are old, but just by being up people are watching them, in the present, and that's still going to affect their opinion of me right now. This HAS hurt me in the past. I've had my relationships with some people hurt over it. i've got friends that would have hated it. Call me an sjw or whatever if you want, but this is something I feel really strongly about. I want to be a quality creator and I really, really don't want to be causing issues for people with my content. my old content caused issues.

Secondly, I just got bored of it. Totally. I stopped using my channel for like a year and a half after the Clownpiece video. I've been active on tumblr, I write fanfic and I've been doing art. I only went back to youtube at all because I found something new I enjoyed doing that required a video format (music). I want to go further with that and develop more outside of Touhou, and so I want the content of my channel to give an impression of what I do and feel, not what I did and felt in the past. I'm sorry to have removed content that some people enjoyed, but I'm prioritizing the fact that this has caused issues for me with people I'm close to.

So yeah, my channel's changing. The things I'm posting are totally different now. If you like my music, that's great! i really enjoy the support from everybody and it makes my day to see all your comments. If you don't? Hey, you can unsubscribe. I know I've completely changed as a channel so it's to be expected, really. I'm not trying to force anybody to watch my stuff, nor do I really care about the subscriber count anyway. I know this decision has made some people mad, but it's a decision I feel strongly about, but I'm sorry people had to be disappointed.

I remember one person on youtube had a situation similar to this where they had some popular video(s) that he really didn't like, and he ended up letting someone else upload it on the condition that he said that the videos didn't reflect what the guy really was. In my opinion, that's what he should've done.

But he didn't (which he is fully entitled to do), but at least I hope he knows someone's gonna upload them somewhere else anyways, and give him an attribution.
