The hips should have some kind of system to hold the hole in place, like velcro or strings to tie. If that's the case, then greater depth is better for more compatibility. If you have a shallower hole, it should still work so long as the hips have some way to securing the whole and preevnting it from shifting in or out.

I have a Lilith Uterus in hard (my first ona), after a few weeks I decided I needed to go softer and got the Venus Real in soft. Thicker sounds like the way to go for what you're describing. Golden Lotion is practically a gel, I doubt you have any trouble with it running. My current favorite thick lube is G-Project's Nuru Nuru lube (purple cap), though. It's slick, doesn't dry terribly quickly, and cleans easily. I don't think it'll drip much unless you truly like your holes saturated, but it is stringy until you clean it.

Finally got to try out the miracle dx. Jesus the box is a monster. I normally keep them but there’s no way, this one is just too big. After my disappointment with the air pillow, I can definitely say to get a stuffed pillow instead. Pillow actually has weight and is good for hugging/general usage. It can be tricky to get your ona in, particularly if it's a larger one (my Venus Real fits completely snugly), but nowhere near the hassle of an air pillow. This version is more tightly stuffed than the other version of the insert cushion pillow (which is stuffed more like a regular pillow I think) which apparently helps a lot with usability.
