So /jp/,

What would you say to someone who is wondering whether or not to get this VN?

>> No.1900473

Stop.

>> No.1900472

SLISH SLOSH SLOSH

"Saya,is that you?"

>> No.1900476

Unless you have a download limit there's no reason not to.

Fucking read it.

>> No.1900478

"Wait another week and see if we still have tons of threads. If yes, do it faggot. If no, it must be shit because people don't talk about it."

Actually, I'm waiting for a final translation, but whatever.

>> No.1900489

>> No.1900548

I'd ask if gore diturbs them. If it doesn't, I'd say "THEN GO FUCKING GET IT NOW, FAGGOT."

>> No.1900557

>>1900552
Awww man knew that was gonna happen but I still looked.

>> No.1900576

>>1900478
There have been threads about it since before /jp/ was created.

>> No.1900603

>>1900465
Saya no Uta is a great visual novel, but might disturb people who are sensitive to horror and people who have firm moral beliefs (i.e. moralfags/christfags) probably won't appreciate much of what the story has to offer

>> No.1900623

>>1900576
I'm talking MULTIPLE FRONT PAGE THREADS, like we always get whenever a translation comes out. Remember how popular Chaos;Head was for a couple weeks? Then everyone finished playing it and that was that.

>> No.1900627

>>1900623

Just like SnU.

>> No.1900631

>>1900623
How would that mean a game is not worth playing? It just means people are burned out of discussing it BECAUSE THEY DID SO. Not everyone can enjoy themselves discussing the same fucking thing over and over and over.

>> No.1900629

Saya no Uta is amazing. You should read it.

>> No.1900636

>>1900623
There were quite a few big SnU discussion threads the past few days. Just check the archives.

>Not everyone can enjoy themselves discussing the same fucking thing over and over and over.
Welcome, 4chan, repost, etc.

>>1900636
I know. To me, that's a pretty good indicator that this is worth my time (though tbh many early threads called SnU "Lovecraftian" or "Lovecraft-style" which makes me worry, since all of Lovecraft's longer works are practically unreadable). I'm waiting for a finished translation, but I have the game waiting for when it comes out.

>> No.1900666

>>1900651
You know, the translation quality in this beta patch is pretty high. This is coming from someone who has not played Chaos;Head or Clannad for fear of mediocre unedited translations. I played through this SnU patch and can confidently say that the translation is release quality. The only problems I found are the slightly laggy load times and the settings are still in Japanese, which really don't affect the story in the slightest.

>> No.1900669

Ask them if they've read their SICP today.

>> No.1900680

SnU hype lasted just one day, sadly.

Oh well, back to my ORT power levels discussion. Ah, can't forget to dump my new Eirin thread.

>> No.1900694

>>1900465
I've waited literally years for the chance to play this VN. I just finished it recently and I can say I was not disappointed.

Unless you're really squeamish I'd recommend you play it.

>> No.1900710

>>1900694

I'm not into murderous lolis, will I still enjoy it if I like horror novels?

>> No.1900722

Saya no Uta is in no way lovecraftian.
Don't be swayed in your determination by faggoty lovecraft fans giving Saya no Uta a bad name.

SnU is a piece of beautiful art.

>> No.1900732

>>1900722

Both are shit.

Hooray for happy mediums.

>> No.1900735

For fucks sake man, it's only a download away.

>> No.1900739

>>1900710
Probably. I'm into anything horror-related, and this more than satisfied my appetite.

>> No.1900745

>>1900735
How easy it is to get isn't the point, since there are a lot of things I could do for free but don't do

People who don't like horror will still avoid Saya no Uta even though it's free and available

>> No.1900754

>>1900666
I will take your word for it and give the beta a try, then!

Thank you and good night, bro.

>> No.1900758

>>1900666
Yeah, there won't really be any significant changes to the text in the finished version. I've fixed a bunch of typos and edited the monster gibberish at the beginning, but otherwise the changes for the final version are going to be mostly hacking-related.

6/10
You had me going for a while until I remembered that the influences were too blatant for anyone to claim otherwise. Also, no one would would champion a VN while at the same time denouncing classic literature.

I do love the game, however.

>> No.1900826

A monster with the pure mind of a child and the human who becomes a monster to protect her. The irony in all this being that she is less a monster than him, because he understands the full implications of his actions, whereas Saya really doesn't. Beauty in fact turned out to be far crueler than the Beast.

That actually does sound artsy.

>> No.1900848

>>1900636
where is this archive that you so speak of?

I checked 4chanarchive, and I don't see such thread in the /jp/ archive

>> No.1900872

>>1900826
He isn't that much monster, although he's an idiot. As he said, there's tons of people, who day without any good reason as his parrents.
This is how i used to see this world for past few years.

"In a way I came to recognize Fumimori as a monster around about the point when he pushed Koji into the well. At that point I basically considered Fumimori the bad guy, more so than Saya, who'se nature was too fundamentally alien to really class as such.

I understand why Fumimori became that way, surrounded by nothing but the liveliest of awfullness day in, day out, I understand that anyone would crack under the strain of having to live in such horror for the rest of their lives.

But he's still a murderous sociopathic madman though. "

"Upon reflecting on this VN, Fuminori represents us, and everything JP is obsessed with represents Saya.

Fuminori brings up on the main storyline a topic that arrived in a manga he read; a man becomes disgusted with humans and becomes attached to robots, which he then grows a deep love with.

We remove our affiliations with others in order to spend more time with our beloved obsessions. However, the endings of /jp/ and Saya no Uta are not completely different. Our love will not flower into something as beautiful as changing the world."

>> No.1900950

>>1900826
I also saw it as a take on the potential of human emotions. On the one hand, it turned what once was an upstanding citizen into a twisted, obsessed individual who knew the full implications of his actions yet carried them out anyway. On the other hand, it taught the beauty of love to a being that literally had no reason to experience it, and gave purpose to a life that went beyond reproduction.
